Skirt Cafe is an on-line community dedicated to exploring, promoting and advocating skirts and kilts as a fashion choice for men, formerly known as men in skirts. We do this in the context of men's fashion freedom --- an expansion of choices beyond those commonly available for men to include kilts, skirts and other garments. We recognize a diversity of styles our members feel comfortable wearing, and do not exclude any potential choices. Continuing dialog on gender is encouraged in the context of fashion freedom for men. See here for more details.
Hello folks, I don't know what is going on with Midas Clothing. They got the most mouth watering range and affordable pricing for men skirts. The true measurements make it easy to order online but they are pretty hard to reach. I emailed my enquiry to the internal and external email address and didn't get any answer.
What a bummer! Their pleated grey skirt is pretty unique. You won't get a similar design with a waist size 40"+ and a length of 21" in the women's department, because the variety in the plus size range is pretty lame.
Did someone ordered a custom size and what did he do to get it?
Many guys have tried to find out if Midas is still in business last few months by sending emails. I did too without ordering a skirt.
Several members of the German site Rockmode.de did the same so the poor guy received perhaps a dozen emails but no orders.
Must be frustrating.

Yes, I did. The best way to order is by using the order email address with "address," "card information" and "details." The process itself was a liitle slow. I stated if the skirt hangs from the jeans waist I choose size 42" and in case of the high waist 43". I had to confirm this once again.
Additional waist sizes add at max 5,00 GBP to the price tag and shipping to continental Europe adds 1,00 GBP. Shipping is included in the prices and only a few bugs are added in case of intercontinental shipping. USA +2,50 GBP each item, Australia and the rest of the world 3,50 GBP The pleated grey skirt is the choice I made.
When it arrives, post a description, I am after something lighter, more Summery but not femme (I know, bad word, but fairly descriptive). I was looking at the black dupion thing but that fabric is not very good at weather apparently. I have one of their tartan full circle skirts but it is too bright for me, too tight as well! When I wear it I fear for the waistband and button!
Maybe that one would suit...

My weight isn't exactly stable, I gain and loose between 2cm and 4cm waist circumfence. At 109cm waistline it fits really good arround the waistband. Is it normal that It feels a bit tight arround the hips while bending over?

Unfortunately, the two links to Flickr don't work. Perhaps they're protected.

That is normal enough for guys and shouldn't necessarily be worried about excessively.
As far as the effect of feeling tight about the hips when bending over, consider bending at the knees instead of at the waist. Not only is that better at not "flashing" the world around one, it's also better from an anatomical perspective -- especially if you're trying to lift anything substantial.

It is not exactly narrow, those are 43." It is made of lightweight suit fabric and the pleats are sewn down all arround. It is definitely a male skirt, cause there is not even a single bit of hip flare, as if it was tailor made. All in all it is a decent A-line male skirt.

It is just a plain pleated slip in skirt with button and zipper. Just like a "women's" skirt. The difference is, you won't get a build to order pleated skirt in a plus size and male specs from the women's department.
