The End is Near?
The End is Near?
It seems that winter last 6 months of the year in the northern part of the USA. Well, today, there was a major shift in the weather. We are getting temperatures near 60 toay and tomorrow, with temps in the 50's for the next ten days. Could this mean that the end is near for winter
If so, it means that knee length skirts will be making their appearance on this old man rather than the floor length ones that I have been wearing.
I wonder how many of us adjust for the weather by wearing longer skirts in the winter and shorter ones in the spring, summer, and fall.

I know I certainly do. I put my lightweight stuff in "cold storage" early last October, and despite a remarkably mild winter it's been long heavy skirts, heavy tights, and heavy stuff up top. I'm looking forward to when it warms up and I can unpack my light airy stuff again and possibly bundle the heavy stuff up into storage for the summer.

Remarkably mild... Hm, I wish it was the same for us. Coldest winter in 20 years, the average temp in Anchorage was 2.5F, and we have over 6 feet of snow and may get more. >_< It'll be long skirts for a while longer yet. Still, though, I think I'll be wearing all lengths during the spring and summer, since there's pretty much no danger of overheating here.

Yesterday morning Mrs SS had to scrape frost off the car windscreen. Second time this winter! That was before sunrise, but by the time I set off an hour later the sun was up and one swish of the wipers was all that was needed.
Keep on skirting,

Why do they call it Anchorage? 'Cause once you move there you're anchored for life???

I had to remove this signature as it was being used on Twitter. This is my OPINION, you NEEDN'T AGREE.

Re: The End is Near?
We had two days so far this week with temps in the 60's F. and both Saturday and Sunday are also supposed to get that warm. Snow cover here is all but gone - just what the plow pushed up along the road side - and that is greatly diminished.
We had about 4 hard winters in a row, and I just can't get over how mild this one has been. Temps got below zero F. only a couple of times, and then just barely below zero. None of the weeks on end of below zero temperatures with lows in the minus 20's.
Knee lenght of a tad shorter has been the length of skirts for me this week. and hopefully, that is going to be the way it will remain for the season.

That is quite a shift in temperatures.
It has been "seasonably" cold the last two days - but we are expecting 60's next week. Awesome for Wisconsin in March.
Might be enough to break out the mini's and grill out steaks.
