When I started on my diet back in April of 2007 I wore a size 42 skirt. I've been steadily losing ever since and today stepped into a size 26 skirt that I bought 5 years ago in the hope that someday I'd be able to wear it. It's a knee length black pencil skirt and very comfortable as long as I don't run or jump. It's not too tight but fits fine. I bought a size 20 straight skirt on ebay last week and am exercizing busily expecting to be down enough to fit in it by next April.
With it, I'm wearing a wayyy too baggy tank top that "used" to fit me very tightly.
I'm wearing my black Birkenstock sandals too. As it's still only 72 F here I don't need any stockings or tights until the weather gets colder. I just wear my Diabetic extra thick wool socks to keep my feet warm as I need them for my PAD.
It's nice to see the 3rd rendition of my "What are we wearing as we post" is still active.

For the past few weeks I've been almost living in my heavy brown (synthetic) tweed skirt, from Ebay. It's sort of a cross between a pencil skirt and an A-line skirt; fitted towards the top but flaring out towards the bottom, which with its weight gives it a nice swing. It skims the bottom of the kneecaps, a length I like, and is fully lined. It's warm and cosy and soft, just what you want for winter. Accompanying it is a pair of black knee-length socks, which I think work well. I suppose heavy tights would be warmer, but then I'd miss the feel of the skirt swinging as I move, and socks are a bit more practical than tights anyway.
The shoes are handmade flat mary-janes, from the U.K.: http://www.shoe-craft.co.uk/catalog/pro ... ucts_id=96 . They go well with skirts, I think, and are really comfortable.
Sorry about the lack of face. It's not my thing just yet.
Happy Christmas, everybody!

Blue denim mid calf straight skirt with an 8" kick pleat in the rear for ease of walking. Burgandy T-shirt and Hoodie, Navy blue tights, brown leather loafers and wool socks.
The hoodie is from walking to the mail box in the bitter bitter cold 59º F. The coldest day this winter so far.

At this juncture, I'm very tempted to invoke one of the more common lines I use at work and implore the poster to, "Stop whining!"Since1982 wrote:The hoodie is from walking to the mail box in the bitter bitter cold 59º F. The coldest day this winter so far.
Right now, it's 8 degrees (F, -13C) here with a wind-chill of about -12 (F, -24C) if one is unfortunate enough to actually be out in the wind.
Sapphire and I just got back from dinner -- she in an exquisite brown plaid-on-the-bias long skirt, brown jacket, wheat-coloured ruffled blouse, and really funky brown paisley boots, and I in my red waistcoat, black dress shirt, heavy cotton calf-length skirt, heavy cable-knit black tights, and my black dress shoes.
Rig0r is likely to invoke the "Stop Whining" comment on me for my comment on the temperate climes we have here at the moment, and, given the sub-arctic place he inhabits he is well within his rights to do so, but I really feel the need to find a supplier of proper winter-weight tights and skirts. Brrrr......
Sapphire also just said "the heck with it" and came downstairs in a heavy flannel nightgown. And is likely warmer than I at the moment.....
