Dresses

Discussion of fashion elements and looks that are traditionally considered somewhat "femme" but are presented in a masculine context. This is NOT about transvestism or crossdressing.

You could also follow the nudist example, and put a towel down where you sit.

I found a workable compromise in wearing underwear.

I have decided not to modify the shirt-it serves as is as a comfortable, airy mini-dress. Totally impractical to wear out and about, however.

Unfortunately, this improvision won't work for larger guys.

So....

Could using a conventional male garment in an unusual manner be considered free styling?

It has occurred to me that the next garment to be popularized may not hang from the waist.

I find myself doing the same. I think for me it's probably for the variation. With 240 mini-skirts already it's getting harder, but not impossible, to find something that different from what I already have. Also, dress fabric is often quite different from a lot of the skirt fabrics so there's something new to experiment with there too.

Here's a pic from last night's outing with staff and volunteers from one of the charity shops I work in:

The photo doesn't really do the dress justice, unfortunately, as it has lovely black and silver embroidery all over it which is not visible, although you can see the odd sparkle of light reflected from the silver threads.

I wonder if "Skirt Cafe" should be renamed "Skirt & Dress" cafe.

I hope I am not violating any rules or policy. For those who find themselves sitting in a chair on their bare butt, there is a solution. I short half slip, 14"-16." I also find them great when going commando. Less friction, better hygiene. They are inexpensive.

Sorry Jen, tried to find out the make for you but couldn't. It was bought in a small independent shop here in the UK.

Had lots of people stop me and compliment me walking round in this red outfit:

Seems dresses can work for men without being viewed as 'feminine'
