Being required to wear neckties if you are male.

Discussion of fashion elements and looks that are traditionally considered somewhat "femme" but are presented in a masculine context. This is NOT about transvestism or crossdressing.

I wore a tie for the first time in long while on Christmas day. It was a gift from my granddaughter and was a holiday design. I never cinched it up and only wore it for an hour or so.

For the first time, yesterday, I tried wearing a (borrowed) bola tie.

I found it much more comfortable to wear than a traditional neck tie. A bola tie can look good without being cinched completely tight, relieving the constriction that I associate with traditional neck ties.

I wore it to my mother's funeral service. People commented that they liked the cat ornament on the slide-I explained that my mother loved cats.

Sorry to hear about you mum, Grok, but nicely done with the bolo tie. I used to have one (it may still be around, but I fear it got lost in the breakup with my ex- last year).

Thank you, crfriend.

One thing I like about the bola ties-they diversify options, which we males have so few of.
