2017 starting the year out right, in a kilt

Post by mishawakaskirt »

Welcome 2017! May you be a good year for all of us.
I'm not much for new years resolutions, I have tried to stop drinking coffee for the last three years, needless to say I'm still drinking coffee.
Moving on, my goal for 2017 is to wish I could say wear a kilt daily, but I know that is highly unlikely. My goal at minimum is at least onece a week, perhaps more.
So I wanted to start out the year on track.
January 1st 2017 at home in my black Trinity kilt.
Starting the year out right.

Bestwishes to everyone, and have a great 2017.

My resolution for 2017 is to wear a skirt or kilt in public at least once.

Done.

(I believe strongly in attainable goals.)

I started with a skirt but after breakfast, it felt a little chilly. I changed into a kilt with long socks and that did the trick.

I am starting the new year out dressed in a skirt and my resolution is to wear my skirts every day of 2017. :thewave: :yellow: :yellow: :shadow: :red: :kiltdance: :kiltdance: :kiltdance: :green: :bluebounce:

You gentlemen give me inspiration. I may never be in a situation where I can kilt or skirt 100 percent of the time.
Baby steps a goal of 52 times in 2017, and perhaps many more in 2018. Perhaps a entire summer month in a kilt, that sounds like a good goal for 2018 or beyond.

Start as you mean to go on! I was in a kilt for the start of 2017 too.

New kilt & new camera.

Still wrestling with the latter, but very comfortable with the former, a proper McKenzie 8-yarder.

I will second that, love that particular tartan. Great look
Of course I've always been a blue/green prefered colors man. I like my black watch.
With tartans you don't have to choose :)
Kilts rock !

Kilt update: two partial days in a kilt, I missed my opportunity today :( feeling good about today:)
Of course I'm thinking my wife will object when she picks up on the new frequent trend.

Here is a long kilt I made that I wore to work today. It is my first with an actual plaid pattern, all my previous kilts have been camo or solid colors.

I did the front aprons in black because I saw a kilt somewhere done that way and liked the way it looked.

Very impressive! Must be heavy though.

What sort of place do you work?

Yeah., it looks real heavy, dead warm I'd guess?
Curious about the badge on the apron, do tell!
Smart, I just go lighter.

Not really heavy at all. It is about the same weight as some "fire hose pants" I have from Deluth Trading.

I am in engineering where I encourage my team to think outside the box, break through boundries and do what "they" say can't be done. :)

It is just a cotton twill, not that heavy but certainly warmer than my knee length kilts.

The Irish coat of arms is just a nod to my family heritage and I thought it would look cool. :D
