Discovering skirts at Burning Man

Post by finrod »

This is a very well-written piece about the writer's experience discovering skirts at Burning Man. I found it very relatable. Having been thrust into a situation where it made sense to try a skirt, he discovers the advantages and wonders why he hasn't done it before.

Why? A bathrobe is probably the nearest thing to a skirt that the average male has worn. He is oblivious to the advantages because he has never experienced them.

I think the main takeaway from the article is that the guy was surprised at how practical and comfortable skirts actually are. I admit the same thing from when I first started in with skirts; the way I put it to my then partner, "I've been cheated all my life!" -- to which she replied with a grin.

Yes, I think if more men actually tried skirts; more would be wearing them now.
