Celebrity chefs

Post by Charlie »

There's yet another celebrity chef cooking programme on the TV. I'm sick to death of TV cooking programmes. If these 'chefs' were any good, they'd be in their kitchens making good food for the patrons of their restaurants, and not making effin' TV programmes about cooking  Those who can, do ... those who can't, make TV programmes about it  Wish they'd go and boil their heads :yummy:

That's better, end of rant.

Come to think of it, I'm fed up with the whole celebrity culture anyway. Perhaps I'm getting old

Me too. I call it Food Porn - which, along with Property Porn (all those programmes about buying/selling/renovating/shagging houses), seem to make up 90% of daytime TV these days.

To give us hundreds of channels of garbage to watch they need cheap tv. People buying, selling and decorating things or cooking makes cheap telly. So does pratting about in a garden, adding decking and plant fondling. This is the downside of wall to wall tv.
You can always turn over, turn it off or stick a dvd on.
Just a thought!

Thank goodness for video recorders! I'm able to record as much as 90 minutes of 'watchable' TV on a really good day - otherwise too busy. Most TV gets 'listened to', while I'm doing something more worthwhile. As for cooking programmes - how boring is that? Nearly as bad as Golf, Rugby, etc., etc.............

That's true. I had forgotten about Garden Porn. If we include all of the time devoted to Garden Porn, Food Porn and Property Porn on TV each day, it must amount to a huge percentage.

And I have to renew my TV licence next month.

Since almost everything on TV is a repeat, why don't you try to repeat your TV licence payment? send them a photocopy of last year's cheque :)

Have fun,

Ian (causing ripples with a kilt in the Barcelona Office :) )

Perhaps it has nothing to do with age and everything to do with your mind waking up to the fact that television is a waste of time depriving you of your own thoughts. Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that so-called celebrities are just human beings like anyone else and don't deserve to be worshiped as gods, or really have any attention paid to them whatsoever.

I suspect he's had a few thumps over the years; the fact that they haven't been shown on TV doesn't mean no one's done it. :)

Have fun,

Ian.

PS He's a pussy cat compared with some of the chefs I've met, and no there will be no names and no drill.
