Can't get Skirtcafe on my computer.

Post by Stu »

For some reason, I can't connect to this site from my iMac computer, regardless which browser I use. I can connect with my mobile phone or my tablet from my home Wi-Fi, but not from the desktop.

Any ideas?

Hi Stu. Are you using http:// or https:// as the transport mechanism? Does the iMac computer recognise the CA that SkirtCafe uses to sign our SSL certificate ("Let's Encrypt")?

It uses https://

I have just tried it again and it seems to work on that now, while it didn't before. Very odd.

Thanks anyway. If it happens again, I'll let you know.

That's odd. I've been using Mac computers to connect to the site since the pre-vBulletin days of Tom's Café. Never had an issue except when the site was down, either for the initial move to the vBulletin software, then to phpBB, or, whenever there have been updates. In fact, right now, I'm using an early 2008 Mac Pro to type this.

I am using a home grown machine using windows 2000 and the last Firefox that will work with win2000. I have SC as my home page and it logs in as soon as the computer starts up, never had a problem with it.
I need win2000 as It is the last windows program that can access DOS automatically as I have and use Dos program that were never reissued in Windows formats.

Thanks, guys.

For some reason my iMac was defaulting to http instead of https. I corrected that and it's fine how.

The gremlins appeared to hit the UK earlier today. All seems OK now.
