Skirts 4 Men Website

Post by Uncle Al »

Hi everyone :D

Just to give you an update, Skip's(Since 1982) website has been saved
by My Free Forum (dot) Org. They have found a new 'host' and are
still up and running. Skip told me he was leaving me the site upon his
demise. Well this happened several years ago now and I've been weeding
out the 'baddies' each day. It, along with M.F.F.(dot) Org, was going to
fold as the web host was closing down. M.F.F. has found a new host and
is still functioning.

Anyone who is/was a member here and at S4M, your accounts are still
active. Any Cafe' member who wishes to join S4M may do so and receive
immediate full access and functionality. Just follow the guidelines and
make a post w/in 3 days of registering and you'll be approved.

The web site is www.Skirts4Men.myfreeforum.org

Uncle Al, I have registered. Not sure if I will use it as much as here but I'll give it a go.

Is anyone else having problems with this site? I have recently switched to 'Edge' as a browser, and I am wondering if this is my problem or if it goes wider.
Attempts to access the site are producing a 'not found' response.

stuck at myfreeforum.org !?! at least it is not the blue screen of death.
"YES SKIRTING MATTERS"!
"Kilt-On" -or- as the case may be "Skirt-On" !
WHY ?
Isn't wearing a kilt enough?
Well a skirt will do in a pinch!
Make mine short and don't you dare think of pinching there !

I can't get into it either.

TBH, I didn't rate it when Skip was at the helm. It was just like SC, but less active and with extra exposure to his ranting. But good luck with finding your USP to make it distinctive.
Keep on skirting,

S4M may, or may not, come back on its own. I was, for a while, advising Skip on the running of on-line fora, but as far as the technical details of S4M went he had practically no real control over things because of the hosting model. MyFreeForum had been in a free-fall for some time, and at some point a "white knight" seems to have stepped in, but perhaps that's gone away.

From my understanding, Uncle Al does the best he can with what he's got, but the level of active control is very close to nil.

I didn't know it had carried on, I had stopped looking at it before Skip passed away because it just seemed to be re-posted Skirt Cafe material.

Curious, what's the point of the other website?

I admit to not being "in the know" regarding how it came about. I recall browsing it briefly a while back. From what I could tell, it seemed to be "less freestyler" oriented, and more for "simply skirts and nothing more". Although I admit I could be, and likely am, mistaken as I only browsed for just a few minutes.

At any event, it's not loading for me today. All the same, I would probably do better not to divide my time on yet another website. Honestly I spend too much time online as it is, especially for a man on a metered tethered cell connection! I need to get out more... I need to shower..

Time after all is a finite resource for each of us, we each only receive a small quota each day, as well as a small quota each life. And all the Kings horses and all the Kings men, as well as the social media tantrums aren't going to add more seconds into the day.

Skirts4Men was rescued by MyFreeForum.org but MFF finally went belly up.
It was taken over by another 'provider'. I found the site, but sadly, I've
misplaced the link. I bookmarked the site but can't find my bookmark.
I'll update this thread when/if I find the link.

I'm still "under-the-weather" due flu-like symptoms.
The breathing has improved. The sinuses are beginning
to dry up. I'm finally able to sleep - in bed - for 2-3 hours
before my head clogs up. Then I get into the recliner for
a few hours, sleeping sitting up. Such a pain :!:
The post-nasal drainage irritates my throat causing me
to cough my head off........You know what I mean ;)

The good news is the pain behind my left eye is GONE :!:
No more headache :D

I note that the default search engine for Edge is Bing. No surprise there.

The easy solution is to use Firefox or Chrome...

The issue here is not with the end-user's browser, but with the provider.

Here's what a little bit of sleuthing points up:

1) "myfreeforum.org" supposedly now lives at "cloudflare":

$ dig myfreeforum.org ANY

; <<>> DiG 9.8.2rc1-RedHat-9.8.2-0.62.rc1.el6_9.4 <<>> myfreeforum.org ANY

myfreeforum.org. 86317 IN NS mira.ns.cloudflare.com.

... dicks ... The ANY query has a purpose [0].

OK, we've got an IP address for it at least.

2) There's nothing listening at the far end:

That would figure. I joined the site on July 20th and the thing expired August 12th. Whether it can be resurrected or is even worth resurrecting are other matters.
