Winter in Wisconsin

Post by PatJ »

It's winter in Wisconsin
And the gentle breezes blow,
70 miles per hour
At 52 below!

Oh, how I love Wisconsin
When the snow's up to your butt.
You take a breath of winter air
And your nose is frozen shut.

Yes, the weather here is wonderful,
I guess I'll hang around.
I could never leave Wisconsin,
'Cause I'm frozen to the ground.

Sorry, I just wanted to explain why I haven't been out
and about in a skirt for the last 4 months.

Ah, I see. Just right of centre, and to the left of the Great Lakes, just below Canada. So you apparently get the cold northern winds then. I'd heard somewhere that the Lakes could get some pretty horrendous weather but I didn't realise it was THAT cold.
I believe in offering every assistance short of actual help but then mainly just want to be left to be myself in all my difference and uniqueness.

Well the poem may have stretched the truth an inch or two,
but we do get our share of cold weather.

As for the Great Lakes, winter storms can sometimes get near
hurricane force - and that is what is believed to have sung
the iron ore ship Edmund Fitzgerald.
