News sources
In another thread, a question arose about reliable, unbiased, news sites. It is doubtful any really exist, since it is within human nature to opine; however, there are some that appear not to be affiliated to government/anti-government, left/right, etc.
DISCLAIMER:
I read from a variety of sources; however, I cannot vouch for the veracity of content. I have no pecuniary or other interest in any of the following.
The mainstream channels, including:
BBC
France 24
Al Jazeera
Russia Today
CNN
When watched/read together you can soon work out which way they lean and get some balanced idea.
If you start to add in:
The Times
The Wall Street Journal
The New York Times
The Washington Post
The Guardian
The Independent and
The Telegraph,
you start to get a feel for the grass roots stories, but it's still editorialised to some extent.
Going to
Reuters,
Associated Press or similar, may get you closer to the origin of the story.
I also regularly read from:
Information Clearing House, and
Consortium News
for looking beyond the "Mass Media Hysteria" whipping up the pitchfork wielding mob.
I occasionally look at:
Truth Out
The Real News
Alternative News
Blacklisted News and
Alternet
You can search for further independent news via Google and also Good Gopher although the latter lists Trump News as a feed source
Enjoy the rabbit hole, Alice!
I also read up on global history and economics to understand how past events unfolded and how we an learn from them today. Thus, my comments that we've been through very similar events economically, politically and diplomatically within the past 100 years or so.
I profess no expertise whatsoever.

Re: News sources
Brilliant! Thanks for this. I'd best get reading so that I too can be a has-been drip...
Re: News sources
A fine list, D.C.
I don't have time to refer to more than a fraction of them, but stemming from my time in Germany I also scan Die Welt & Frankfurter Allgemein to get Angela's angle on things, too.
I also take the Flat Earth Soc. weekly, for it's in-depth reporting
Tom

Re: News sources
WOW - something to go with Milfmog's LINKS to skirting websites !
Only thing missing is the links to SOME of the sources to bookmark.
Now will have more subject matter than I can shake a stick at !
Way too much information overload.

"YES SKIRTING MATTERS"!
"Kilt-On" -or- as the case may be "Skirt-On" !
WHY ?
Isn't wearing a kilt enough?
Well a skirt will do in a pinch!
Make mine short and don't you dare think of pinching there !

Duly edited to provide bookmarks to the homepages for each.r.m.anderson wrote:WOW - something to go with Milfmog's LINKS to skirting websites !

The list is obviously not exhaustive and, no, I don't read them all every day. But I do read others, too.
I also obtain source material on UK legislation directly from "the horses mouth", so to speak.
Please add to the list in this thread

Re: News sources
Thanks DC !
Now if I could entertain crfriend or Milfmog to incorporate this thread as a "sticky" in Skirts and Kilts for Men just under Men in skirts Links ?
Maybe retitling it as News Links.
OR maybe repartitioning these two threads into a new section for ease in location and review.
