No Pants Day = Skirt Day

Post by Uncle Al »

Ok folks, in another post "Comment is Free" I responded
with the following....
By taking a different approach, what would you suggest?

Would it be more 'get togethers' of skirted brethern, a special day
similar to 'the no pants day'?

How about on the 'no pants day' we substitute skirts/kilts. At least
we're not showing off our 'skivies' and keeping our selves 'sheltered'
from any of the 'elements'. Plus, we're not in danger of being
arrested for indecent exposure.

Any other suggestions?
So far, no one has responded to this idea, so I ask you,
How many people would gladly substitute skirts/kilts on
the 'No Pants Day"?
:?: :D :?:

To me, this is an excellent time to promote skirts for men. :thumright:
Granted I would be conservative in my choice of skirt, but
would happily wear a skirt on this day. I would still be
protecting myself from the elements, maintaining modesty
and still promoting the "No Pants Day" by wearing a skirt.

Opinions?
:D :thewave: :green:

No pants day is just that, and not a skirt day. But the thought is good.
Just as others can organise special days, then men could surely organise a skirted men's day. Well, even the Tuttles from OCC choppers have worn kilts. :?

And even if it is at first a one day gig, once some have tasted the pleasure of wearing a skirt, it may catch on and become a more common thing to do. Also, men may wear skirts just to prove that they have balls and are not sissys, because only real men......  have "the balls" as many people would say, to wear a skirt in public.

Ps. I would like to state something else than "have the balls" but that is a well known and understood statement.
um perhaps men who are man enough, have enough stamina, have what it takes. :|
A man is the same man in a pair of pants or a skirt. It is only the way people look at him that makes the difference.

I think it's a capital idea. Yes, it "bends" the notion of "no pants", but what the heck -- skirts are a modest, functional, and fun alternative to tr*users.

When's the next one? (And to think that I missed International Talk Like A Pirate Day this year...)

I did a google search and found the following....

http://www.nopantsday.com/wp/
The first Friday in May is ALWAYS No Pants Day!
I already have it circled on my calendar! :D :bluebounce:

Now where does it say that Skirts are not allowed on No Pants Day?

OK-It does say in the FAQ's on their website that skirts, kilts, shorts
are not allowed. Just 'boxers, brief's and other assorted types of 'undies'.

In my book, skirts/kilts ARE NOT PANTS, therefore no restriction on
wearing skirts. It would be 'bending their rules' on No Pants Day,
but opening up new horizons for us as we would just be using more
comfortable clothing instead of pants. :D

I love it! Love it! Love it!

I agree with Uncle AL and disagree with peter (what else is new), AL points out that skirts are not pants or trousers, and unless you're in Boise, you might get arrested for running around in your skivvies. We've at least gotten to the point in America that you "might" get stared at by a cop when wearing a skirt, but not arrested like might happen with nothing covering your undies.
Peter says no pants or skirts. Why no skirts, peter?????

Skip, it's just what the website says. Personally, I've had no desire to walk around in a pair of briefs all day in public. So, like most days for me, No Pants Day is celebrated in a kilt, or, if the weather's warm, a skirt of some sort.

It's kind of like what I was promoting in another thread "Spreading the word" recently. I really like the idea of a no pants day as "skirt day". It least it helps get those who have never tried it to try it and who knows, maybe they'll just like it.

If anyone is interested, I own the domains skirtday.com, skirtday.org, etc. so we can do our own website...

Mugman has also put quite a lot of effort into this idea.

Hi Gus,
Sadly I learned this morning that my mum, at the ripe old age of 93, has advanced lung cancer. She's now in hospital. As her carer for the last two and a half years, who knows what future extra caring responsibilities I shall now be committed to. Therefore my input will undoubtedly be of a lesser amount for a while. But whatever idea is worked up, I wish it well.

Ditto. You only have one mum, when she's gone life becomes a lot less enjoyable. Take care of her as well as you can, make sure she knows you're there for her. One very important thing, when her time comes, if she's in pain, don't try to talk her into staying any longer than she wants to. I saw my dad try to force his mum into staying alive with lung cancer because he "needed" her. She tried, for him...and suffered through the rigors of hell. When it was my mums time, I did the right thing and let her go. It's a hard thing to do, but necessary. :blue:

Mugman,

I personally know what you're going through--Been There, Done That!

Skip said it, and I will too---As the time draws near, tell her you
love her and that she taught you well. It is 'OK' to go.

My wife and I were at the nursing home visiting my Mom on a friday evening,
and told her something similar to this. Around midnight the phone rang.
It was the call I dreaded to receive. She passed about 11:30PM.
She lacked 20 days of reaching her 100th birthday.

This was about a year and a half ago, but seems like yesterday.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family.

My heart goes out to you and your mother, mugman. As I found for myself as an intermittent caregiver, a visit to the the cafe from time to time can be just the right mental break from family duties. Take care of yourself and know you are doing a lot even when you feel you can't do enough for your mum. :(

Holding your hand from afar,

Well it's simple, it is a `No pants day, with the idea in mind that people would not wear outer clothing, but only their underwear. At least underpants. It is not an "alternative to pants day." I would say respect that day for what it is.

Better for skirt wearers is still a men in skirt day. (and possibly for women participents, but only skirted and wearing the text )
The whole Idea of a special day for something is to concentrate on that very thing. So a skirted man day, with possibly all men skirted with a shirt with that text on it would give a strong message.

But if men want to wear skirts on that day there is no reason not to, only who will see that you are wearing a skirt with the intention to relate it to the no pants day, unless you have that printed on your shirt. In essence I think a no pants day is for both sekses, and would suggest that those who would move around in their underpants would be taking part in the no pants day. But if you are the only one on the subway, and nobody can see why you are doing so, the whole idea is lost and it might even be unpleasant. The rules apparently also exclude other outer garments such a skirts so I see no advantage of wearing skirts on that day only. I would say wear skirts everyday.
