Before I Wore Skirts I Never...

Before I wore skirts I never...

...had "outfits"

...considered that shoes came in categories other than dress and casual

...coordinated colours

...sat with my legs together

...knocked things off low shelves and tables accidentally just walking past them

......... worried about wind regarding clothing

.............. really appreciated a cool breeze

............ given so much thought to where I would sit in a Cafe

......... thought more about exposure than just photography

......... pulled down a hem when getting up from a chair

.......... owned so many garments

............... stood at a urinal without undoing anything

Never had so many total strangers talk to me.
Never got any compliments about my outfit.
Never worried about sitting and getting up in restaurant or cafe.
All the others mentioned above.

... Wore tights.

... Wore high heels.

... Carried a bag.

... Got into a car butt-first.

... Ran out of closet space.

... Went without a belt.

....never wore high heeled shoes

....never carried a purse (and made sure it matched my shoes)

....never wore hosiery

....never wore earrings (clip-ons)

....never obsessed over my appearance

....never worried about keeping my legs together while sitting

....never felt self-conscious over sporting a short hemline

And, most of all....I never realized just how GOOD it felt to wear women’s clothes.
I don't want to LOOK like a woman, I just want to DRESS like a woman.

... never really cared what I looked like.
... worried about what colours went with what.
... had to deal with brain-lock deciding on what to wear for the day.
... considered how much space I take up in company (this, especially with a hoop!).
... worried about getting a cat under there.
... realised that bending at the waist to pick things up is a really bad idea.
... appreciated precisely how comfortable clothing could actually be.
... spent much money or thought on what to acquire next.
... knew that I'd been cheated for all of the previous years.

.... felt the ANTICIPATION of putting a skirt on.
.... knew the complexities of such a simple garment.
.... knew how infinite the varieties of the skirt were.
.... felt so good when out and about.
.... liked looking around the other side of the aisle at the clothing.
.... appreciated what the colour palette was.
.... looking in the wardrobe and wondering which one to wear today. I never did that with jeans/trousers.
.... knew how good I look in one.

And on the downside:
.... had so much hassle with MOH. Boo, hiss. :(
I believe in offering every assistance short of actual help but then mainly just want to be left to be myself in all my difference and uniqueness.

while driving in my car had people in trucks or tall SUV's keeping pace with me so they can look in and see my legs. and then wondering about their reaction when they saw my face and realized it was a guy driving

rode an up escalator or walked up stairs wondering if the people behind me were trying to look up my skirt

Knew how to dance properly (although I thought I did).

I do not worry about someone looking up my skirts when going up or down stairs. If they don't like what they see then thats their problem. If they try to make a case with the police I can come back and ask why they were looking up my skirt as that is not legal here. I have seen many a weirdo arrested for doing just that in the mall.
In the summer I always drive with my skirt well up in my lap showing a lot of leg and allowing the Air Conditioning to keep me cool. So any one who is able to see in my car windows will see a lot of leg. more power to them....

experienced that Marilyn Monroe 'moment' - though she had warm air, and I had cold!....amazing how fast reaction times can be, when called for urgently!!
understood why a woman took so long to get ready to go out.
spent most of my annual clothing budget each month on new clothes.
