I would say that has to be a denim skirt, from the way it is sitting away from the visible leg.

Emergency brake release in upper middle of photo -
Hood Bonnet release next to brake -
Your left foot is cocked at a strange angle -
You are wearing white ankle sox -
Some kind of orange detailing about the footwear perhaps hiking or work type boots -
Left Leg has some fuzzy hairy effect -
Your car has either power windows or door locks or both -

AND WHAT IS THIS ABOUT THE DENIM MATERIAL ?

Enough material is visible to safely state that it is denim -
Good guess is a skirt - denim material drapes over the top of the leg without snuggly following the leg contour -
Why would you want to test us with shorts - no visible seaming *** -
When seated the camera angle and the hem length of the denim may not reveal what it is -
Going back to *** no visible seaming - a good guess is that it is a SKIRT !
