hoodies and skirts.

General discussion of skirt and kilt-based fashion for men, and stuff that goes with skirts and kilts.

Rare as it may be for Carl and I to agree, I agree with him that we probably can't look like much in a skirt and a hoodie. I'm not a fan of untucked T-shirts and skirts either.

But as I said in another post and context, "I don't feel I'm in a position to criticize anything anyone else wears."

A hoodie with a skirt? Hmm! Interesting! I think something like that could work if accessorized correctly. Now I'm intrigued, I'll have to investigate this and see what I can put together.

I wear hoodies with skirts all the time. It looks perfectly normal. What's the problem? Casual is the way most of the country lives. I dress for the moment and for the occasion. I don't want to look like I am perpetually headed for a costume party.

I try to dress for the weather and comfort. :D And if hoodies are called for to keep warm I try to find a nice combination to wear. I see nothing wrong with it. :)

No hoodies, but I do have a big collection of hats I wear with skirts. My natural top of the head insulation departed decades ago.

I like the hoodie look quite a bit, and wear them with skirts from time to time. I also have a warm, cowl-neck shirt that has a similar aesthetic to a hoodie, but slightly more unique (at least, for men's clothing) -- picture below.

I tend to prefer casual wear to dressier styles. But what I like most is when an outfit has a little bit of intention, and at least a touch of unique character. Both casual and more traditional styles can be bland and boring.

Finrod,
I like the look and is something I would emulate. Looks comfy.

Thanks. :D Here in snowy Minnesota, comfy and warm is pretty appealing for a good portion of the year.

I saw a woman who was wearing a sweatshirt and a black on the knee pencil type skirt which I thought quite a good look 8)

Well I beat Jeff to it but as usual I am sure he will come out with a much better look. LOL

I think that in this case a short skirt is called for. Should be warm

OK. You guys convinced me, hoodies and skirts can look good.

Just don't hold your breath waiting for me to jump on that bandwagon.

BTW, Dave, like me, you are dating yourself with disdain for un-tucked tee shirts. Apparently that's something back from the seventies and eighties. I'm told by my twenty-something kids, especially my daughter, who has the summa cum laude diploma in Fabric and Fashion Design from the NCSU College of Textiles, that a tucked tee shirt is a huge fashion faux pas. Go figure. In jeans, I still tuck mine, but never in a skirt.
