What do you think of this one?

Post by partlyscot »

I have tried this one in last years version, which I seem to remember came a bit closer to my knees. I think maybe I wear them a little further down the hip that it would come on a woman. I rather like the blue and brown versions, but I had only seen them before in a grey and Indigo. I must see if I can get to try it outside, find out how the thick dense knit deals with wind.

I think all kinds of interesting things about "this one", ranging from excellent to most unflattering and ugly

You will have to pardon partlyscot - me thinks he is wearing the emperors new kilt which is really hard to visualize !
That and posting pictures sized (formatted) to fit the screen is a challenge for the challenged !
I am sure that when the invisible tartan is sufficiently illuminated the kilt will appear !

Kilts and skirts - can't live with-em and can't live without-em !
Have just spent the last 65 days wearing kilts - kilted skirts and skirts - proudly declaring pants independence.
This should last until the Windchill factor blows the cover off the kilted aprons and reveals that something needs
to be done before the killing frost advances toward the hinter(under)lands !

Made for some interesting kilt and skirt discussions on my cruise of the New England Quebec fall foliage.
Kilts are fully acceptable as formal wear in all dining rooms on the NCL Dawn - shorts are questionable !
"YES SKIRTING MATTERS"!
"Kilt-On" -or- as the case may be "Skirt-On" !
WHY ?
Isn't wearing a kilt enough?
Well a skirt will do in a pinch!
Make mine short and don't you dare think of pinching there !

Why do I think this needs to join the "Perceptible Willy" thread?

Looks good, pattern-wise, but, don't really care for the pencil skirt fit... Length is right, tho.

Unlike those two famous French towns, too-loose & too-long, this one is too short & too tight.

No, not for me.

I have a couple of similar sweater-knit skirts. They are nice for fall and winter. Woolrich has them at various times. Woolrich currently has a sweater dress that's sort of cool. http://www.woolrich.com/woolrich/detail ... gQod6V8C1g I'm not happy with the fit of dresses any more so not shopping for them. But, yeah, the nicest stuff is really expensive at full retail. Check 6PM.com at points to find stuff at a better price.

I really like that Woolrich sweater dress, just not $89 worth.

As if I need another dress.

I also like that Woolrich dress, but not, I agree, at that price. The other issue is it's too short. From the description, it would barely cover my cheeks!

Yes, the Toad & co skirt is a bit pricey, I have to admit that if I order it, it will be at a hefty (staff) discount. I tried it on again today, and while it is snug, it is very stretchy, it's also thick enough, and with a strong enough pattern, that I have little fear of it being too revealing either.
