General discussion of skirt and kilt-based fashion for men, and stuff that goes with skirts and kilts.

Skirts, winter and legs.

I was wondering what the members think would be more "acceptable" to the fashion
challenged majority,
1 Skirts and tights(tights in Oz are a thick cotton mix),
2 Skirts and stockings,
3 Skirts and socks(longer being winter) or
4 Skirts and boots and any of the above ?

In my opinion all the above will be acceptable if the wearer feels calm, confident and comfortable in his chosen outfit. Any of them will raise smiles for some observers but if the wearer is behaving normally people soon forget how he's dressed (if they even notice in the first place).

Personally, I'd avoid any sheer hosery, but that's as much because I don't like it as anything else.

Have fun,

Ian.

The Scots wear kilts and stockings all year round. I reckon with a skirt (not too short) I'd feel cosier and comfier in thick tights, socks and normal footwear.

In winter I wear skirts with thick tights and ordinary footwear.

Interesting you point that out now. Only in Australia etc. and below Peru areas is NOW, winter. The rest of the world is experiencing Summer now. Different strokes for different folks. :D :D

In the wintertime I make extensive use of heavy tights for warmth, both with my skirts and when I'm wearing tr*users. In fact, with a heavy skirt and tights (and other warm stuff on up top) I can shovel snow in 5 degree (F) weather and be perfectly comfortable. During spring and autumn, I tend to sport lighter legwear, and during the summer I tend to be bare-legged or wear sheer knee-highs.

We've had almost three straight weeks of 85+ (F) temperatures, including a run of 4 days at 90+ (all at 75+ percent relative humidity). That and two tornado warnings in the past week. It's been light skirts for a while...
