An interesting observation

Postby crfriend on Sun Jul 18, 2010 8:06 am

I was downstairs in the basement this morning doing the Sunday laundry the same way I've been doing so for the past several years and noticed something -- I haven't washed a pair of my own trousers in positively weeks. This is not because I'm a lazy slob and don't wash things: it's because I've been living in skirts for weeks. Interestingly, I can't even recall when I last wore a pair of trousers. I took a pair with me both times I last went sailing (a couple of weeks ago) but never donned them, so I'm wiling to bet it's been a good month or better. I guess I just don't miss them in the heat we've been having.

It'll be interesting to see if it causes a stir at work when I eventually show up in twin-tubes.

Carl,
Hey, that's nothing. When I was at school at Kent State U, my jeans got washed once per quarter whether they needed it or not!.

I unfolded a pair of knee length cargo pants to fill out a wash load last weekend and found a nest of 2" centipedes living in the crotch area. It's been at least a year since I've touched them for anything as I also live in skirts. I carried the shorts outside, released the mommy and daddy centipedes and all the dozen or so baby centipedes in the bushes at the edge of the underside of my mobile home, went back inside and washed my now filled out washing load. After prodding around the carpet on the floor of the closet, I found the tiny hole in the floor the centi-family had come in at and filled it with spray foam to keep any relatives out. Moral of the story is, when owning pants and not wearing any, we have to keep ahead of the various wildlife that may want to live in our pants when we're not. :D :D :D

Skip,
Wonderful, heart-felt story. That's the solution for pants, turn them over to needy and downtrodden insect families so they may make a home. Heartwarming! Made my morning! Thanks!

Actually I thought it was rather cruel. We all know how bad crotch rubbing can be with just one inseam... How bad would that be for a centipede???

Have fun,

Ian.

Well, they weren't really centipedes, only about 36 sets of legs for a total of 72, not a hundred. Overall about 4 inches long by as big around as an old style Bank of America pen. Dark brown in color and a nice mauve with orange streaks on the bottom. The mommy and daddy watched me real close while I was handling little Twisty, Wriggly, Windy and knotted One. I could feel their beady little eyes watching every move I made. :D :D :D I especially liked Mommy's centiskirt and daddy's centikilt. :D :D :D

At half time during a football (soccer) match between the insects (6 legs each) and the spiders (8 legs each) the half-time score was 27-nil to the spiders.
For the 2nd. half as a substitution the insects brought on a centipede and won handsomely 43-27.
The interviewer after the game asked the insects' coach why they didn't field the centipede earlier?
'It took until half time to get all his boots on'.... came the reply.
Carpe Diem......Seize the Day !
