Re: Real world shopping for skirts
Tom, I keep telling you that the Far Eastern inch is 10% shorter than the Imperial inch. Fact. I rarely buy skirts now. Finding them in the shops is getting more difficult and the styles and selections in charity shops is variable. I have very definite preferences for my taste and I have loads of sk...

Actually I find that "women's" jeans/trousers fit me better than the men's. They are generally made from softer, more colourful materials too.

Football ( soccer ) is started by a pass forward from the centre spot ( with all other players outside of the centre circle ) and not tossed into play. The coin toss before the start determines which half of the pitch a team starts in and who kicks off the first half. There are certainly some surpri...

I think the early influence of anything computer-wise in English helped.

Re: On family and spouses "negative" reactions, emotion
Coder, with the risk of stereotyping, my wife is a woman, naturally, and I couldn't possibly know what she is thinking. About me wearing skirts anyway. Only some opposition.

Moon, the idea is to get the thread back on track away from domestic violence issues.
So, "I had a fried egg for breakfast." Literally, the other day.

What "scares" me a little is what is the contingency if Carl cannot continue supporting this site? Is there someone else who could effectively take over the role? And has Carl thought of training up a replacement? Thank you Carl for your dedication and expertise. Oh, and on the subject, I ...

Scott, your point about saying something to indicate that the conversation has got far off course and needs redirection brought back a memory. In my youth, in such a situation, I used to say, "I had a fried egg for breakfast." Code for, "Let's get back to the subject."

You could maybe try somewhere like Iceland! As for me, I'm working tomorrow when the first England game is on and I'm not recording it. Truly, due to the whole situation wit Catarrh I am finding it difficult to generate any sort of enthusiasm for the fiasco and hence will not be following any results.

"Dad's Army" follows a group of ( mostly ) elderly defense volunteers during WW2 and the antics they get up to. It is available on Boob Tube ( what isn't ) or BBC iPlayer if you have access. And you would really enjoy the send up of the inept English.

Re: Extending the waisline of a kilt?
Remember that with tartan kilts the construction of the kilt keeps the plaid pattern "in line" so any movement will probably make the pattern move "off", i.e. move away from its match. Of course, for solid block patterns then this doesn't apply.
