Re: Where did you first get the idea to wear a skirt?
Very true! I ran a school bus service for a while, always skirted. One day, before I moved out of the area, my path crossed that of one of the mothers. Skirts were inappropriate for what I was doing so I was in trousers. She commented that she didn't recognise me at first because I wasn't wearing a...

The first time is the hardest. After that it only gets easier.
Enjoy!

I’ve got my wife’s family staying. Eleven of us. No problems! I’ve been in my Black utilikilt all day - white top, ankle socks. Even walked my dog in it. I love it!

For sure, once someone knows you as, "that guy who always shows up in a skirt," they'll see you wearing pants as unusual.

...If the man had a male skirt made to wear whilst he was escorting his wife out on the street , would the view of the community be any different? Can the unmarried man pass any judgement in this cenario?... This obviously depends on the specific individuals but I can tell you that my wife objects ...

Re: I Finally Did It... My 1st Time Out in a Skirt
Hey thanks for the invite! Next time I'm out, I'll take you up on that. I'm not exactly sure what that would be but that would certainly add to the visit. Best regards! We can talk about specifics when the time comes. Lunch at a craft brewery, hiking, a hockey game, an art or craft show, a stroll a...

...I noticed that Scottsdale, AZ has a fairly large art community and that probably would have worked as well. Re: Where did you first get the idea to wear a skirt?
...I love my skirts. One day I might work up the nerve to buy a kilt... I thought for years about wearing a utility kilt, which seemed the most masculine of skirts, but never found the nerve. Then I overcame that and thought for several years about wearing a skirt designed for women but again lacke...

Re: I Finally Did It... My 1st Time Out in a Skirt
I am very much a skirt newbie and would like to thank everyone in SkirtCafe for their encouraging posts. Posts such as SEPADave's give a tremendous amount of encouragement for people like me who still falter on being open and public about their skirt-wearing. I've been limiting myself to wearing my...

...If I’m a sissy, then so be-it. My wife still loves me... My wife has called me that a couple of times but I just glare at her and let it go. Anyway, to me, the term refers to young girlhood regression and/or submissiveness, and I'm not into either of those. ...She likes my growing bust-line, too...

Re: Over or bottom up?
Me and my wife had a somewhat heated discussion the other day on how to properly put on a skirt. I say you pull them on and off like trousers. She insists you must pull it over the head arms and torso. But then can remove the skirt like you would trousers. Ok Café members what are your thoughts? Yo...

Re: Pockets differences
...The trick is to fold it tidily and only tuck a portion of it inside the waistband at the side of your underpants, let the rest hang on the outside between the underwear and the skirt. If you wear an underskirt or petticoat, use the waistband of that instead, it's much more hygenic. Ew. Just car...

Re: Thank God for Utilikilts!
I started with utility kilts myself and I agree they're a great way to get started. I still wear them for hiking, for hockey games, and occasionally just for variery.
They're particularly great when you want pockets rather than a bag.

Re: Introduction
So things have taken a backward step. My wife told me she wasn't impressed with my skirt wearing and asked I not wear them while she is around. Devastated that I'm now a closet skirt wearer. Perhaps you can get away with less than a total defeat and then slowly work your way back. For example, perh...
