Re: Cash or plastic?

[...] No tranaction fees are charged by either the retailer or the bank. The retailers don't directly pass on the transaction fees that they are charged because it would be bad for business, but for small shops the cost of processing cards is a significant drain on their profits. The customer event...

Re: Gender Neutral Fashion is failing skirt-wearing boys

I totally agree with Barleymower. My worry is that some people may come to believe these myths if we do not challenge them each time they are repeated.

...but it does get very repetitive.

Re: Gender Neutral Fashion is failing skirt-wearing boys

I am more than happy to show the science to prove there are two, and only two, biological sexes. You must have had to search back before Watson and Crick in the early 1950s to find it (possibly to pre-Darwinian times). I can also find 'science' to prove the phlogiston theory and 'science' based on ...

[...] There is also no such thing as the color blue. Actually it would be easier to argue that there is no such thing as the colour green. If you arbitrarily divide the colour spectrum into two, red is one end and blue is the other -- so you can argue (like Stu) that the colours in between don't ex...

Re: Gender Neutral Fashion is failing skirt-wearing boys

There is no such thing as non-binary. Sex is either male or female. That's all. This has already been thrashed out and explained ad nauseam yet you keep coming back and re-asserting the same incorrect nonsense time after time. It is becoming tedious. Are you incapable of understanding the simple fa...

Well that settles that... the gender guru has spoken!

We can all go home now, someone hit the lights on the way out.

There is also no such thing as the color blue.
Well done!

If you are the manager you could set an example by coming to work in a skirt.  With a bouncer to back you up, you wouldn't have any trouble with the other employees.

Heavy woollen floorsweeper

I've just made a real floorsweeper from some heavy woollen material. The total cost was 2UKP, of which 1.5UKP was the cost of the zip.  The material was being sold off at a car boot sale for 50p.   Floorsweeper_0663s.JPG Floorsweeper skirt It has 6 panels in the lower part, the drop is 36" and ...

Re: Skirt panel calculator

The bottleneck is the hip. That defines your fabric diameter plus some extra for comfort. To the waist you have to taper it with darts. But than you are already leaving the field of a simple skirt. It is possible to use the calculator to design a skirt in two sections -- hem to hips and hips to wai...
