Re: How are your perversions?

When I initially read your account, I assumed that your son chose the word 'perversions' as a joke. Regardless, if you found it hurtful, then discreetly informing your son of such is appropriate. If your son says it was intended only as a joke, I hope you can see it that way; if it was something mor...

Re: Friction at the muffler shop

I doubt the shop has my address or phone number. They might have gotten my contact info from the credit card company, but I don't know that.

Re: Friction at the muffler shop

How much was the refund for? If it was the full $515 then it all depends whether the credit card company claim the charge back from the garage. My refund was US$515. I believe that the credit card company "charged back" this amount, so this $515 came from the garage. If they do then I wou...

Re: Friction at the muffler shop

Thanks to all for all the sympathetic comments. Here is the rest of the story. I contacted the California Bureau of Auto Repair (CA BAR). The BAR rep called and got my side of the story, and then visited the shop. BAR negotiated a new, lower price for the services I received: US$100. IMHO that's rig...

Friction at the muffler shop

I took my car to a local muffler shop to have a broken muffler hanger re-welded. (The car was hit hard by a hit-and-run driver, and our insurance declined responsibility.) This is a trivial job if you have a welding rig. (I don't.) Two men spent ten minutes working on the car. From what I saw, they ...

Re: What do you wear on your legs with skirts

Sheer compression hose, 20-30mm. I'm supposed to wear 30-40mm, but those are difficult to put on and remove. I have congenital varicose veins; I've had two vein-stripping operations, and I'm obliged to wear my medical-grade "tight socks" whenever I'm not laying down. The tightness helps mi...

Re: Kilted Mechanics

FWIW, I do all of my car maintenance kilted. But I'm only working on my own cars in my own suburban driveway, so I guess that's not newsworthy.

Re: Skirt Vs Utility Kilt

UtiliKilts are substantially different. Most UKs are denim and pleated; most of my skirts are cotton and not pleated. I wear a slip ("underskirt") under my skirts so they don't cling; this makes them softer. I generally wear the UKs on weekends and/or when doing manual labor (working on th...

Re: Creative Writing - Help Please

I recall the nothing-is-surrounding-my-legs feeling (others refer to this as "freedom"), and the occasional light brushing of the skirt hem. Hi Stuart, This is exactly the type of items I am after. Great. Thank you. Hm. O.K., the next impression I recall was wearing a skirt outside on a h...

Re: Creative Writing - Help Please

I hope this is OK to ask this: Yes! We welcome polite questions! I am doing an English course at school, and am working on a piece of creative writing. What I was hoping to get was some ideas from the male forum members for how it feels for a boy to wear a skirt for the first time. What does a boy ...

Re: do you wear tights or not

Every day.

I have congenital varicose veins; I've had two vein-stripping surgeries, and I'm obliged to wear medical-grade tight socks for the rest of my life. I wear tights (in the U.S: pantyhose) because they're more comfortable than medical-grade socks.

USA-specific: TSA enhanced pat-down

Sorry to inquire about a USA-specific topic, but I'm confident that everyone else will be amused at this self-inflicted tempest. Recent news stories in the US say that the TSA (Transportation Security Agency, the folks that frisk you for weapons before you board a plane) have tweaked their policies ...

I believe that the DeLorean car used stainless steel for its exterior sheetmetal and had doors that open uniquely like the Mercedes Gull-Wing car. With all that superstructure on the trunk (boot) lid it must have some advanced form of supercharging ram induction increasing the already fantastic hor...

Re: Guy, what kind of hobbies do you have?

Wrenching. Latest project was an engine swap in our big (15 passenger) van. In the distant past, I've rebuilt some engines &etc. We have an old speedboat ("stinkpotter" to my sailing betters :) ) that I maintain. I've done some minor remodeling over the years; some carpentry and drywal...
