Re: And another master -- Greg Lake
When I was a teenager I absolutely worshipped Emerson, Lake & Palmer. I finally got to see them live at their last ever concert in 2010 in London's Victoria Park. They were a bit creaky and under-rehearsed and Keith Emerson's arthritis was clearly giving him problems but it was fantastic just to...

Re: What inspired you to wear a skirt anyway?
Very briefly:- I'd wanted to wear a skirt since I was about 5 years old. Nothing inspired me. I just wanted to wear a skirt, even at that age. I didn't actually wear one until I was a teenager and I didn't own one until I was 24. Over the years I've been wearing them more and more and I can honestly...

Re: A personal issue with tights.
I find tights quite irritating to wear. I think it's the hairy legs that cause the irritation! I prefer a knee length skirt and kilt socks. I still feel warm with this combination, even in winter, however the skirts I normally wear are made by Diesel and are a padded skirt with a nylon inner and out...

Re: Wearing a skirt for live gigs (rock)
For the love of PLEATS ! Definite kudos for the guitarist in the blue pleated (s)kilt ! That is right up my alley ! "Pleated-To-Please" rma That chap is Brian Molko of Placebo. Back in the 90's he'd often perform on UK music TV shows in a short black dress. Not only did nobody seem bother...

Re: Skirt Advocacy .. something to think about
Nearly all the women turn up in their jeans, and when I remark upon that the usual response is "it's because they are more comfortable". (All except one whom I have never seen in trousers, and of course she wears skirts for the same reason.) This is what baffles me! Women always seem to s...

Re: USA-specific: TSA enhanced pat-down
This may be USA-specific now but I doubt that it will be long before the likes of the UK follow suit. The article in a UK newspaper that baffled me was the one where a US citizen refused to go through a body scanner on his return to the US from Paris. Why on earth would they want to scan him *after*...

Re: Skirts and driving....
I'm 100% with you, Davy. I often drive long distances in a skirt and it's far and away the most comfortable way to travel. I drive fairly regular long distance routes and have places a couple of miles from my destination where I can change into more acceptable attire. The one that I can't do is the ...

Re:
A towel sure is like a skirt - for those who are too shy to wear skirts out and about, wearing shorts and tying a soft jacket like a fleece round your waist makes a passable A-Line too. I'm a bit nervous about wearing a skirt in public so when I want to go out in a skirt I wear a knee-length skirt ...
