Re: Clothing envy - does it dissipate?

I have to admit, when I see a woman/girl in a light flowy skirt I do feel envious, I am struggling to find that sort of skirt in my size, also although I will happily wander around in a kilt or denim skirt and have a few softer skirts I wear at home, I would be moving out of my comfort zone if I wor...

Re: Engineers

B&B would undoubtedly wax lyrical on the number of different sorts of engineers there are about, but how the name 'civil' got coined, I don't know. By 'civil' engineer I understand 'structural'. Tom Whatever do you mean? you got me thinking now: Erm, civil, reluctant, grumpy, lousy, efficient, stru...

Re: The things people will say

Thanks for the answers, it's good to know that like here in the land of Blighty, there are still pockets of sanity in the U.S. keeping their heads down and out of the news!

Re: The things people will say

Tell me, are there any "normal" parts in the U.S.? I have never visited, but the impression I get from the News, from various forums and even the occasional on line game, is that America seems to be made entirely from areas of either ultra religious, ultra conservative, ultra erm throwback (Amish), ...

Re: The things people will say

I’m trying to find the courage to discuss skirt wearing with my folks, as I’d rather they find out from me rather than the grapevine. My dad had to have his gallbladder out, so spent a few days helping out. There were two incidences where the perfect situation was setup for me to interject somethin...

Re: A weird tech idea

The pumps make a noise, and have you seen the price of the batteries? I don't fancy spending £250 per battery just to prevent a flat skirt! This is getting silly, I suppose you could have an inflatable skeleton/frame inside the skirt, just use a sparklet to blow it up when volume is required (like a...

Re: Flared Jean skirt

I have bought a lot of skirts from Style J Fashion, (https://www.stylejfashion.com/) Differing lengths, mostly denim but also khaki and other lighter fabrics, catering for monsters like me, all really well made, with the fly zipping on the traditional mans side. The skirts I have bought from them (a...

I have often seen how women benefit from the option of being able to wear boots and tights in wet weather. Tights dry off much faster than sopping wet trousers.
Bare skin dries off quicker than any fabric!

Re: Nice positive kilty vid on youtube

Positive for the Kilt but not entirely advisable for the Scottish hills in winter. In dry cold weather ok but when it is wet and windy some back up would be required. It would be interesting to get an opinion from a mountain rescue team on the subject. I didn't watch the whole clip so if this came ...

Re: Nice positive kilty vid on youtube

All the reasons he gave for wearing a kilt also go`s for wearing a skirt. Totally true! much as I like the kilt, mine gets worn maybe once every two years, mainly because the belt is very tight, feels like a corset!( I guess). Skirts, whether around the gut or doing the "underhang" ugly fit, are mu...

Re: WINDOWS &*%$#@ "10"

Hmmm, I think I had linux Mint setup on an HDD for an old pc, unfortunately probably the one I blew the PSU up in. Power supplies can still be had on-line for fairly reasonable sums, so that's your first route. However, be aware that media-conversion and retrieval of data resident upon obsolete med...

Re: WINDOWS &*%$#@ "10"

Hmmm, I think I had linux Mint setup on an HDD for an old pc, unfortunately probably the one I blew the PSU up in. It is something that will help pass the time over the Christmas break, trying to work inside a pc is always livened up by my three young and inquisitive and very helpful cats! If I can ...

Re: WINDOWS &*%$#@ "10"

I am not pro-Microshaft, I am not a fan of the regular forced updates, must admit that my iPad also has constant updates to apps and the occasional OS update so Apple can also be a pain. Even though my PC is now ten years old and will no doubt need shaving soon, after installing Windows 10 64 bit se...

Re: Transportation

Well from my observations earlier in the year in Gibraltar, I saw so many women and girls wearing nice billowy skirts o0f all sorts of lengths while riding around on scooters, so sitting and riding didn't seem to be a problem for them. I suppose the front "shield" that scooters have must alter the a...
