Re: Out and About -- In the World at Large

Out in the City of Wells this afternoon doing some shopping. Wearing black knee high boots, a long denim skirt, an orange top and orange tights and a yellow padded jacket. Had a good time browsing the shops and managed to buy myself a purse from a charity shop and a knee length yellow skirt from a ...

Re: Out and About -- In the World at Large

I'd arranged to meet Mrs C at the local supermarket, and was waiting for her to arrive when a woman came up to me. "Excuse me for asking, but why are you wearing a skirt?" (ankle-length A-line denim). "Because I like wearing skirts" She said she'd worn trousers ever since being r...

Re: Out and About -- In the World at Large

In the butcher's shop this morning, waiting while the lady in front of me was being served. I was wearing an ankle-length A-line denim skirt. She turned to me and said she liked my skirt, and that it must be nice and warm. I replied that yes, it is, and its lovely to wear. End of conversation, but l...

Re: Out and About -- In the World at Large

Mrs C and I went to the solicitors today to talk about power of attorney in case one of us went crazy (in my case, being even crazier than wearing a skirt  ). We both wore knee-length A-line denim skirts, not by design, it just happened that way. The solicitor looked at us and made a comment ab...

Re: Out and About -- In the World at Large

Next door, there live twin girls, six years old. The've seen me many times in various skirts and we've had many conversations about me wearing them. Today, I was working in the garden, minding my own business and wearing a knee-length denim skirt - sunny day, so nice and comfortable. The girls had a...

Now I've found out what uxorial means, yes she does, or appears to - difficult to tell with women :alien:

Re: Out and About -- In the World at Large

Just back from a holiday in Gran Canaria. On the info leaflet at the hotel, it said that it is mandatory for men to wear long trousers and a collar shirt for the evening meal in the restaurant. I'd packed a pair of trousers just in case, but decided to push the boundary and wear a heavy, purple saro...

I usually stop listening to what is being said and just count the 'likes'.

Re: Out and About -- In the World at Large

Went to the surgery this morning. Saw the Doc, then had to wait in the waiting room for a blood test. While I was waiting, a guy came in wearing a kilt. As it happened, he then came and sat next to me, so I said "Snap, except I'm wearing a skirt" (knee-length A-line denim). "More comf...

Re: Member of Parliament Suggests Schoolboys Should Wear Ski

I don't think I've been ma'amed lately, but I do remember the time I was standing at the sink in a Walmart bathroom washing my hands. An older man walked in, quickly turned around and walked out, then a few seconds later walked back in.... He thought he entered the wrong room! When he ...

Re: Amtrak Adventure

Going slightly off-off-topic :? , last year the wife and I traveled from Chicago to San Francisco on the Californian Zephyr (we were also due to travel from NY to Chicago by train but there was a freight derailment and sadly we had to fly instead). We had a great time; it was very relaxing and I wor...

Re: Out and About -- In the World at Large

I was in B&Q (big DIY store) today, wearing a just below the knee denim A-line skirt and black knee socks. One of the guys that worked there asked if I was wearing a utility kilt. I told him it was a skirt. He told me that he was Scottish and usually wore a kilt, and that he was going to wear it...

A missed opportunity

I was wandering around a motorway service station trying to find a mobile phone signal, when one of the shop assistants asked if I was OK. He was late teens / early twenties and suggested I try outside where the signal might be stronger. I went outside and he followed me then, to my surprise, said &...

Nice to see a reference to contra dance. I always wear a skirt to contras for the reasons mentioned - ventilation and the swirly effect. Plus its more fun than trousers :D

Re: Skirt Wearing by Women Increasing?

There was an uptick of women in skirts this last week in Wells, possibly due to the sunny weather albeit with a nip in the air. But one thing I have noticed is the number of men wearing shorts, even though the weather is a bit on the chilly side. A straw poll in Wells market place this morning: wome...
