Re: Out and About -- In the World at Large

Hi all, The (What can we do now to feel important) management at my workplace are trying to instigate a 'dress-code' among their front-line staff. This is an award-winning academic library (which is a bit of joke among the staff, frankly), and there is no dress code as such in any department of the ...

Re: Tights and the "necessary" visit

Hi,
I work in an academic library, and my managers and the University are fully suportive of my legwear choices. I'm skirted most days. Ahhh the freedom.

I'm lucky, I know. I wish we all were.

Best wishes,
Ash

Re: Tights and the "necessary" visit

Hi,
Having been wearing tights all week at work, and having to make regular visits to the toilet, I bought 3 pairs of hold-ups yesterday: M&S Autograph, 60 denier. Brilliant! Now I'm at work in a knee length skirt, I'm comfortably warm and I have the freedom to pee!

Happy New Year, skirtees

Re: Riding a bike in heels!

Hi, Riding boots have traditionally had a heel to keep the foot secure in the stirrup, so I guess a similar function might by served in wearing heels for cycling. One of my female colleagues regularly cycles to work in 2 inch heels including, sometimes, stilettos without, she says any difficulty. I'm...

Re: A gentle push of the envelope -- at work

Hi all, A female colleague and I had a laugh this morning when we walked into the office: same colour scheme. Orange t-shirt, black legwear. The only difference being she was in trousers, I was in a black, ankle-length skirt. And I had knee-high boots with a two-inch heel on as well (autumn has come...

Re: Shaving rash

Hi all, I've been removing leg hair for about 4 years. I started using an epilator fairly early on as shaving didn't leave things smooth enough for long enough. I have two, which I tend to alternate using, . It was a bit painful at first, especially on the thighs, where the hair tends to be coarser,...

Re: Its Going To Be Hot!

Morning all, Lovely sunny morning here in the heart of Albion this morning, walked into work through the cemetery as the mist lifts, sunlight glancing through the trees, birds pewed on the branches providing the chorus, khaki cotton skirt, just below the knee, slashed on both sides to just above the...

Re: Its Going To Be Hot!

Morning all, Well, we are told in the UK we can look forward to some fine settled weather for a few days, which will make a change to how things have been recently. Apparently the jetstream has not swung north of the UK, so we've been getting weather systems coming in from the North Atlantic. Not go...

Re: Its Going To Be Hot!

Hi, It's been annoyingly unpredictable since we had the really hot spell a couple of weeks ago. I'm going out to work in a short skirt and sandles or flip-flops and getting caught in a downpour. Do I need my shades (new, cool, pair), or do I need my brolly, or should I take both. Yesterday it seemed...

Re: Purse or Man's Bag

Hi, Due to the usual absence of pockets in skirts, and an aversion to stuffing pockets with stuff when there are pockets, I began using a shoulder bag some years ago. I'm afraid I now have 7 or 8 of various sizes and styles. This is the most recent acquired, very spacious and comfortable to carry on...

Re: Ladies' skirts that should look good on men...

Hi, It's been about 3 year since I posted, though I re-introduced myself on the intro thread above. The only skirts I've ever bought have been those intended for female attire. Personally, I wouldn't go for a kilt if I was paid to. I don't see the need to differentiate between the genders when it co...

Hello once again

Hi all, It's been around 3 years since I posted here, and I think it was still Tom's then. I noticed Charlie from the old IMFF days is still around so I thought I'd drop in and say hello again. Since May of last year I've been wearing skirts to work with complete freedom, with the full support and b...

Mysterious Disappearance of IMFF

Hi all,
IMFF seems to have gone down again. Anyone know anything.
Skip, if you're viewing here, I was going to issue a response to our mutual 'friend' Henry, at whom I am as pissed off as you are. Thanks for your words there.

All best wishes,
Ash

Hi all,
My Dad used to wear my Mum's tights when playing golf early on Winter mornings. He wasn't too thrilled when Mum let that one slip out!
(Note: this was 30+ years ago)

All best wishes,

Proms concerts

Hi all, Any of you folks in the UK going along to the Proms Concerts this year? I'm going to the John Adams concert on Aug 11th. Since the Royal Albert Hall is notoriously hot I shall definitely be promenading in a skirt. Sadly this isn't one which is being shown on TV. All things being well I shall...
