Re: Doing away with "Embracing feminity"

Indeed Moon, it's the way we behave when interacting with others that wins hearts and minds. Be open, honest, generous when one can be, and offer no apologies save for when you've actually wronged another accidentally.

Re: Dr Who

I think Uncle Al missed the whole point of the show. In regenerating the Doctor should have gone into Jodie Whittaker’s clothes, The new doctor body in the clothes of the old doctor. Total logic in the story. Man doctor in woman doctors's clothes. I don't know how familiar Al is with the premise of...

Re: Pride

Wear what you want. That's the whole point. That's why we're trying to break down the barriers, the stereotypes, and the disdain. What you wear should not really be a signifier of what you are; it should reflect how you feel in the moment. Thus, the simple act of shoving both legs down one pipe shou...

Re: Dr Who

I can see why a number of former SkirtCafe regulars have given up and gone elsewhere when the resident mods keep criticising the members. I'm becoming tired of the constant negativity on the site. Actually, this is just the "resident mods" getting tired of having anti-skirt rhetoric parro...

I get these things, too, but I'm fortunate is that I don't get pain or nausea -- just the vision disturbances. I've had them since I was in my 20s, and they're usually tripped by stress.

Indeed. That stated tactic is just one of the ways that men self-police and hold all possible progress back. It needs to stop. Sadly, humiliation is an extremely effective form of control over people.

Re: Dr Who

Shouting or using capitals is unproductive and alienates those who are on your.side. Then why did you stop just one iota away from invoking Deuteronomy on us? You might as well have, because you used all the coded language therein that is only used to bash men and never even so much as scold women....

Re: Man in skirt wins Eurovision

I think I'm qualified to address Spiriou's comment as I've been in both situations. The first one was where the desire to wear skirts finally "caught up with me" after years and I gave it a try, much to the surprise of my (now) late ex-. The net result of that, whilst her mind was still in...

Re: Man in skirt wins Eurovision

If you find the ManBox constraining, then there are two options: (1) try to make the box bigger; (2) step outside the box. Which you choose is up to you: clearly a lot of people here are much happier with option (1). It might be better if you didn't have to choose - if it was generally accepted tha...

But. He identifies as non binary, confirming yet one more time that skirts are not for straight hetero guys. Am I wrong in thinking that the skirt is becoming a non-binary flag? How many of the men at the Met Gala wearing skirts were non-binary, is that a bad thing? I'm afraid this is really becomi...

Re: Dua Lipa’s SNL performance featuring skirted male dancers

Over the 60+ years of his life, Carl has been through a lot, much of it involving his advocacy for male fashion freedom. You need to see things from his perspective to understand why his tone is the way it is. Indeed, I do not view the world through the same lenses as one who is immersed in it. I e...

Re: Dua Lipa’s SNL performance featuring skirted male dancers

Would you agree automakers would fight in getting their vehicle displayed in that video with a bikini-clad, curvaceous woman? This woman can help in selling their vehicle to her followers. Fans will buy products seen in videos. They want to own what she owns. 'Twas already done in the era of "...
