Re: Mississipi School Discriminate Transgender Girl

No school governors in Scotland BM and I wouldn't go for it anyway. They exists here and it's a big ask. I was a school parent governor myself. I stopped because the chair of governors where I was had a iron grip on the school. It was a lot of effort for no reward. My reaction here was largely base...

Re: Mississipi School Discriminate Transgender Girl

The real problem is that adults cannot seem to accept that kids know what's best for a kid. They seem to polarise issues between outright denial and extreme unfounded conclusion. Stevie I think that powerful feminist groups are making their feelings known with the government of the day. Essentially...

Re: New Adventure begins

I moved away from my home town many years ago. 1993. I know what you mean about missing the ground. I'm from Torquay in Devon. My Mum and Dad had a guest house. As a kid I didnt have any money save the £2 a week from a paper round. We had two dogs so I spent all my time out with the dogs. I really m...

Re: Mississipi School Discriminate Transgender Girl

I think this is being approached in the wrong way. If a student is biologically and physiologically male, that is a simple reality. Until transitioning is complete (hormones, surgery, the legal aspects etc), she can request, but can't demand, others recognise her as female. However... The real issu...

Re: Mississipi School Discriminate Transgender Girl

Mouse, you are closer to this than me but UK schools are taking a harsher line? The press talked about banning things as the press is apt to do. However the way I read it, it is a calibrated plan to teach children the various facts of life when they are old enough to take the information in. Obviou...

Re: Mississipi School Discriminate Transgender Girl

Mouse, you are closer to this than me but UK schools are taking a harsher line? Eg "ensure children aren’t being taught about sensitive and complex subjects before they are ready to fully understand them. " And "We are also making clear that the concept of gender identity – the sense ...

https://ca.movies.yahoo.com/movies/2015-11-24-school-celebrates-skirt-day-where-boys-were-skirts-and-girls-21271696.html short of it is there's an annual event for guys to wear skirts. So it is possible TM. I wrote to twenty schools in my area last year with exactly that proposal on world skirt day 😢

Re: Doing away with "Embracing feminity"

I was saying the same to my son this morning mouse. I saw a man with a platted beard, dark sunglasses and tattoos on his legs. I said he was a work of art.
Since wearing skirts I've realised that nearly everyone is in a world of bland. We need to be thankful for a bit of colour

Re: Where will we be in say... ten years?

Until the majority of men view their existing clothing options as inadequate, there will be no change. We will be here on SkirtCafe in the same place 10 years from now. We need to remember that the average Joe views clothing as totally utilitarian and goes to Costco to purchase 10 identical trouser...

Re: Where will we be in say... ten years?

Hypothetical scenario.... Somebody markets a hiking dress for men. This becomes the first dress to gain traction. Grok I don't think finding the right item of clothing helps. It more about perceptions of men and women. Women have become hyper feminine and at the same time masculine. It leaves very ...

Re: Pride

I go with my daughter to Pride events (except here in Reading because she goes with her school friends). They are generally all about the fun. On that basis I wear whatever is most fun for me; which is mostly a skirt. The only problem is which one? I'm looking forward to Brighton Pride. We missed it...

Are you sure? This is the Daily Telegraph we're talking about here. Their hate on anything LGBT related knows no bounds.
The Tory Graph. That explains a lot.

Re: Dr Who

I feel like I've touched a nerve. Firstly I would like to establish they are not women's clothes, I'm with Eddie Izzard on that one. Then why did I say it? Because it is that word, that single word 'woman's' that epitomises the struggles we have. There was no coded language. It's right there in your...
