Re: BCC

I can join you in the BCC club. So far I have had three excised (jawline, back and in the last month top of head) and another couple frozen. The excisions are done under a local anaesthetic in less than an hour and were not a big deal - that said I’ve not needed any form of graft ( I got a free face...

Re: Men in skirts in movies and TV

I rewatched 51st State last weekend. For those unfamiliar Samual L Jackson spends the entire film kilted, with no explanation given ( unless I missed that bit…). That film is, for me, a far better ‘ role model’ for our collective quest than the many comedy CD films that spring to mind.

Re: Sightings "in the wild"

Lunchtime today I noted a gent beyond retirement age and perhaps appearing slightly unkempt doing his shopping in the Winchester city centre Sainsbury’s in a mid thigh kilted skirt. It was definitely from the other side of the aisle (kilt pin on the left thigh, apron right over left and the length g...

Re: Out and About -- In the World at Large

Feeling brave I took a trip to Aldi today for the weekly shop wearing my light brown 5:11 tactical kilt, black tee shirt and sandals. It felt great in the heat we have currently in south eastern UK. It was mostly a non-event with just a couple of sideways looks until I was almost done, at which poi...

Benetton Midi wrap skirt

I see Benetton are getting in on the MIS party.

https://gb.benetton.com/wrap-midi-skirt ... 1_905.html

Very pricey perhaps but ultimately a reasonably ‘normal’ and masculine take on the subject - I approve. :D

Re: Out and About -- In the World at Lar

Reviewed the Dress Shopping in Perth thread. A "mini pini dress" was linked to. "Pini" seems to be short for pinifor . So...how do you pronounce "pini" in this context? Sorry, you've triggered my inner Word Nerd...! A pinafore dress (colloquially "pinafore" f...

I quite like Braveheart for some reason….

Actually, Pulp Fiction and Shawshank are right up there for me.

https://www.asos.com/asos-design/asos-design-mens-smart-skirt-in-black/prd/202878217?clr=black&colourWayId=202878218&cid=27110 I have to say that the arrangement of pleats on this one really makes me suspect that it is actually a kilt-type skirt being worn back-to-front. It's still quite sm...

Asos Skirts

If anyone’s interested ASOS have a couple of skirts in at present. Nice to see them being open and not claiming they are Kilts or suchlike. https://www.asos.com/asos-design/asos-design-mens-smart-skirt-in-black/prd/202878217?clr=black&colourWayId=202878218&cid=27110 https://www.asos.com/asos...

Re: Pet Peeves:

When someone begins a sentence with the word so... It's annoying, but at least it's a meaningless filler, like "well" or "erm", which indicates that you are about to speak but need a moment to think (and also suggests that your sentence is going to be a long one!). My pet peeve ...

Re: Pet Peeves:

For me there are two language-based peeves. Firstly the starting of sentences with the word ‘So’ and secondly the way the younger generation (in the UK at least) misuse ‘Like’, such as saying ‘ She was like’ instead of ‘She said’. Drives me nuts. I know language use is fluid and ever developing, bu...

In a funny kind of way the jacket takes the focus off the skirt and makes the skirt seem unremarkable, which has to be a good thing if it helps normalise MIS.

I too do like the skirt.
