Re: Men Wearing Nail Polish

Nail polish is, in my view, a luxury to be indulged in by people who do not have to (or find it beneath them to) work with their hands. My nails are well clipped back, mainly because they chip and split if allowed to get too long. Nail length, and nail color, are two separate issues. In some Eastern...

Re: Men Wearing Nail Polish

One more thing... purecotton, I'm wondering where you get nail "polish" in the UK... I've heard that your markets and salons are all full of nail "varnish".. ;) I'm just kidding with you, but seriously, nomenclature is a funny thing. The bottles usually say "nail lacquer&quo...

Re: Men Wearing Nail Polish

Generally, I try to wear a polish that matches my shirt. Easy for me because I wear a lot of solid colored shirts. For myself, I never wear polish with a skirt, it's either-or... my thing is to wear these as items of men's fashion, to demonstrate how polish, or a skirt, can look completely masculine...

Re: Men Wearing Nail Polish

I wear polish on my toes, Light purple close to flesh tone at work and deep blue when at home for the "weekend". I love doing my nails, just started but looking forward to working on my hands Ben, that's awesome! I wear it on my toes constantly, and about half time on my hands, and I've g...

Re: Pockets, or Lack Thereof

I find all this reluctance and angst by so many people to carry a bag mildly amusing and sad at the same time. For goodness sake, what IS the problem? If you are man enough to wear a skirt, are you not man enough to carry a bag instead of stuffing pockets full of day-to-day paraphernalia? I've been...

Re: Pockets, or Lack Thereof

I have a small video camera, a 30GB JVC Everio, and a medium size camera bag to keep it in. When I carry it, I also keep my wallet, keys, checkbook and smokes in it. It works just like a purse, but it's rectangular with the top zippered on three sides - and nobody has ever given me a second look for...

Re: Kilted to Kick Cancer

A few years ago, I remember seeing something online, MSNBC I think, that was warning about how the heat of laptop computers had been linked (or was being studied for a possible link) to low sperm counts and fertility problems in men. The funny thing was that the ads next to this warning were for the...

..Wallons in Belgium and the Québécois in Canada, who feel more threatened by neighbouring languages than the metropolitan* French do. (* is that word English? "métropolitain" is the word we use to distinguish the French of France from the francophones in other parts of the world.) Martin...

Re: Newly Skirted in Ohio

What I don't know about how the forum database works would fill a book. I thought the thread title would be a key to keeping all the replies connected. Obviously, they aren't. :) That's OK... I didn't know it was possible until I tried to do it! (come to think of it... not unlike wearing polish and...

Re: Unskirted, but seriously thinking in Ohio

Day 3 update: Yesterday (Day 2), I wore the skirt to a different sports pub. Thin crowd. Only noticeable reaction was as I was walking to the patio for a smoke, I heard a woman say "All gays to the patio!" with some giggling. I smoked, then returned smiling with head high and took a seat a...

Re: Unskirted, but seriously thinking in Ohio

I did it! Yesterday, I bought a $5 pair of wool dress pants from the salvation Army store. VERY NICE pants - if they had been hanging in JC Penney, I would have mistaken them for brand new! I loosely followed the instructions at http://shakespearessister.blogspot.com/2009/04/easy-sunday-sewing-proje...

Newly Skirted in Ohio

Greetings! My name is Steve, I'm 44, straight, divorced father in northeast Ohio. I'm here because I've had an interesting experience this summer with nail polish, which has caused me to question society's customs regarding men's fashion. I started wearing nail polish in early July, because I lost a...
