Re: So my wife got me a handbag for Christmas….

So I am out on a shopping trip with my daughter, me with my black bag, daughter in jeans. Daughter has her glasses case with her, since part of the trip is to the optician. Daughter looks at me as we get to the shopping centre, “Can I put my stuff in your bag?” We both thought this was a huge laugh!...

Re: New Adventure begins

So, I am old and easily confused and have probably not been paying enough attention...... Last year you moved from Virginia to Washington. This year you are moving back, but maybe in a year or two....... :D It is good to be free and move when you want to move. I hope you are both happy and things wo...

Re: Mississipi School Discriminate Transgender Girl

What is amiss is, WHY is it only daughters :?: Shouldn't sons be taught how their bodies work too :?: You are totally correct. However a boy tends to workout many of the nuts and bolts of his equipment as it is there to see. Where as, a girl's equipment is mainly internal and hidden. In addition, i...

I like his hat... A quick search for him on line goes quiet just after 2021 when this article dropped. However he is on LinkedIn where you can see his history. https://www.linkedin.com/in/sebastiaan-vermeulen/details/experience/ In 2021 he was coming to the end of his PHD (Dr) studies, so he was a s...

Re: Mississipi School Discriminate Transgender Girl

Sorry mr seamstress, we brits have taken this thread down an ally and across the pond. We should be discussing this poor girl who is having a torrid time at this school. I found this link which gives more background to the story including telling her off for using either gendered bathrooms. https://...

Re: Mississipi School Discriminate Transgender Girl

I agree that in a perfect world, parents should be in the loop. However where you get parents who think their daughter should not know how her own body works, until she is married or not ever. IMHO the state needs to step in and give basic human knowledge to all young people. In the UK this is not ...

Re: Doing away with "Embracing feminity"

The problem here is that the definitions of "masculine" and "feminine" have been being changed over time, and that has resulted in the range of traits/behaviours considered "acceptable"/"normal" for men has been shrunk dramatically over what it was a few deca...

Why a drab monochrome world?

So take a look at the colour of the cars passing on an average UK street or motor way. What colours are you seeing? Black, White, silver, grey, may be silver with a hint of black......Where have all the colours gone? One reason is resale value, a non colour car offends nobody so is easier to sell. A...

Re: Mississipi School Discriminate Transgender Girl

Kids with problems know early on, this doesn't all start happening at 16, or whatever age people think kids should be able to handle it. From what I have read, Various subjects are being taught from 9 onwards, linking into reproduction taught in the science curriculum. These things are born into a ...

Re: Mississipi School Discriminate Transgender Girl

Mouse, you are closer to this than me but UK schools are taking a harsher line? The press talked about banning things as the press is apt to do. However the way I read it, it is a calibrated plan to teach children the various facts of life when they are old enough to take the information in. Obviou...

Re: Pride

When I was at school in the late 60s and 70s, anything a boy did that was remotely girl like was immediately met with a range of homophobic insults. As a boy who was quite interested in girl things, one had to keep those thoughts deeply deeply secret. At home the religious angle was at play, so Larr...

Re: Greatest Influence On Children

For all the hopefulness of the 1960s/70s era, there was a distinct sub-current that was dark indeed and very troubling, and that's what eventually collapsed the known world in the 1980s. Having some knowledge of navigating tough waters, I'm pretty good at picking stuff like this up, and in this cas...

Re: Doing away with "Embracing feminity"

I always feel at peace with myself and calm and relaxed when I embrace my feminine side. I think all guys should be in touch with their feminine side and dress up more often and what a better world it would be for it. I completely agree and have incorporate my feminine presentation into my everyday...

Re: Mississipi School Discriminate Transgender Girl

Discrimination is very well still alive in American schools. Transgender girl is being told she has to wear boy clothes. https://abcnews.go.com/US/wireStory/transgender-girl-faces-discrimination-mississippi-schools-dress-code-110323298 The most telling bit of the piece is this The district rule tha...
