Re: Ballet Flats and Mary Janes Back on the Runway

I could gladly do away with the term "Mary Janes" as it is too pointedly gender-specific. How many men and boys are willing to wear a style of footwear commonly known as "Mary Jane?" (Don't all raise your hands at once!) Better they should be called "bar shoes," "...

Ballet Flats and Mary Janes Back on the Runway

It looks like this year will see a return of ballet flats and Mary Janes for men on the fashion runways. Dior has put nearly their entire lineup in ballet flats or Mary Janes. Relative to many other designers, the clothes are even relatively normal. https://footwearnews.com/gallery/dior-photos-fall-...

Re: Ballet Flats for Men Articles

We need to femme up our looks, not masculinize women's shoes like ballet flats. I frankly don't care if my look is "femmed up" or not. I wear ballet flats because they are comfortable. Some are feminine (Tieks) and some are less so (Softstar). Both are very comfortable and a key part of m...

Re: Things that I wear or do that are considered femme by others

My list is fairly short...
- Wear nylons (mainly in winter)
- Wear leggings/yoga pants casually and for workouts
- Usually wearing women's jeans or shorts
- Wear Tieks ballet flats ALL the time!

Re: Double Standards

Of course it is a double standard. Heels used to be worn by men, but were appropriated. Ballet flats (then called pompes or court shoes) were worn by men and have been appropriated.

Re: Ideal outfit

I love wearing skirts and shorts with tights/nylons and ballet flats, and have done so in public in the past on occasion. I wish I could wear more often though.

Ballet Flats

I'm just wondering how many on this forum wear ballet flats and how often? I am in a group on Facebook for Tieks (one of my favorite flats) and there are probably 20 or so other guys. A few are TG or CD, but most are regular blokes wearing fun shoes!

Re: Army rules for ponytails and nail color

I believe the Army now has rules that allow Sikhs to wear a beard (and wear a turban with long hair).

Re: Even ladies shoes .

I have become a huge fan of ballet flats. They don't work very well with my suits for work, but I pretty much wear them all the time otherwise.

Re: Sheertex Advert

If you have not tried these tight/hose, they are not kidding how tough they are. I have a couple of pair. I like how their models are "normal" looking people, not skinny models. Would like to see a few more guys though. There were a lot of guys reviewing on their old site. I have not looke...

Re: Meggings

I hate the term "meggings." The are leggings and can be worn by guys or girls. I wear leggings around the house and when working out. I do wish they would be more of a fashion staple for men. They have been making their way onto the fashion runways, but not mainstream yet. Here is to hoping.

I don't wear skirts that often, but love wearing leggings and ballet flats.
