Re: Who is Patagoniakid

I created membership accounts on both Pinterest and Tumblr for purposes of building my own collection of images of men wearing skirts, albeit with my own style preferences. Like all websites that inundate you with advertising, membership is free. Member viewable information on Bruce Johnson in Quora...

Re: Who is Patagoniakid

I'm hoping I'm not speaking out of turn. Patagoniakid is Bruce Johnson on Quora. He encourages people to review his collection of photos in Pinterest and PictureTrail. I've exchanged one or two messages with him through Quora messenger and he's very supportive of encouraging heterosexual men to wear...

Re: How many is enough to normalise us?

...I'm encouraged that I've seen 3 in PA and 2 in Switzerland in the past 2 years. You are lucky. I have never seen another man in a skirt (or even a kilt) in real life, perhaps because I don't frequent highly populated areas very often. The 3 sightings in PA were all adults. The 2 in Switzerland w...

Re: How many is enough to normalise us?

Jamesy, it's great to hear all the positive feedback from women. For some reason, positive feedback from women seems more important to me than hearing it from men. This is a perfectly normal reaction for a straight man as it affirms that he may still be "desirable" to members of the oppos...

Re: How many is enough to normalise us?

Regarding kilts: I agree that they are accepted as male attire by nearly everyone in the West and that they don't reflect breaking the rules of gender assigned clothing. For skirt wearers, however, their increasing popularity can serve as a means to an end for skirt acceptability. I'll embrace anyth...

Re: How many is enough to normalise us?

Thanks Dillon. We have so many prejudices and phobias to overcome to make skirt-wearing commonplace among men. Although skirt sightings are rare, I'm encouraged that I've seen 3 in PA and 2 in Switzerland in the past 2 years. I was disappointed when I visited the Netherlands for a week and saw none....

Re: How many is enough to normalise us?

Normalizing skirt-wearing requires separating skirts from negative stereotypes of femininity, transgenderism, and homosexuality. When women wear trousers/pants, the public views them as promoting themselves, taking-on the positive character traits of masculinity. When men wear skirts, the public vie...

Re: Difficulties with partners

Dennis, Thanks for you suggestion of a knee length denim skirt. I have 6 denim skirts roughly 15”-17” (38-43cm) in length. 4 are stretchy. Is there a reason why you recommend knee length? Just curious. I’m guessing that it’s a length that is the closest to shorts. I'd probably wear the convention 10...

another thought... Does skirt-wearing while flying make going through security any easier? or doesn't matter?

What is your favorite skirt for flying and why?

I'm trying to decide what style skirt would be ideal for flying. I was originally thinking a mini A-line would be good but then thought that there is a lot of sitting at gates facing other people that would require a lot of work to prevent flashing people. Any thoughts?

Re: Difficulties with partners

Thanks Dennis, Stevie, David, GerdG, Dennis, Thanks for your words of caution on misinterpreting acceptance from my wife.  I agree that skirt-wearing may never be unnoticable but I'll continue to move forward but also play a muted, quiet approach when skirting.  I won't know what her tolerance line ...

Re: Difficulties with partners

WOW! Reading through all 26 pages of this blog is exhausting and somewhat grim, especially the struggle faced by Dennis. The moment of him sitting by himself, isolated by his family, reflects my worst fears. I hope his skirt-wearing relationship with his wife has improved. That being said, I have no...

Hey thanks for the invite! Next time I'm out, I'll take you up on that. I'm not exactly sure what that would be but that would certainly add to the visit. Best regards!

Re: Where did you first get the idea to wear a skirt?

.... When I suggested wearing her Tights she freaked out big time. We didn't speak of it again for many, many years. .... I confessed to my Wife on wearing her Skirt. I complained about the double-standards on Women being able to wear trousers/pants, and got her to read Vernon Coleman's website on ...
