Re: Historical Crossdressing - 27th Feb 18:00GMT webinar
As we on this site know gender and sex are two completely different things and in fact she is wrong - there are more than two genders. As a linguist with a particular interest in semantics, I think the problem with the word "gender" is that it has such a wide range of meanings. Grammatica...

Re: Design your own skirts, clothing etc
I don't need printing because my reason for wearing skirts is comfort. I'm actually contemplating this because I think it'd be really cool to have a skirt with elements of the logic prints of some obscure computer on it. A few folks would understand what's going on, fewer still would be able to ide...

Re: Jealous
I agree, I have worn a skirt in extreme cold conditions, and I actually find skirts warmer and more practical than trousers in the winter. Like any article of clothing, one just ahs to select the right style and fabric for the weather conditions.

Re: Sightings "in the wild"
I believe I have had my first sighting of another guy in a skirt since the mid 1980s save for pre-arranged "meets". I was "running on empty" (and humming the Jackson Brown tune) this morning and fuelled up the chariot and as I was pulling away noticed that the guy at the pump be...

Re: I wore my kilt skirt at sunset
I have several kilted skirts. I prefer them to a standard kilt, mainly due to the length. I do a lot of off-trail hiking, and don't like having my knees exposed to brambles and brush. I have found a couple that wrap left-over-right, a couple others I converted. The common layman recognizes it as a k...

Re: Traveling skirted
I put on a skirt when I left my motel for the airport and spent the next 12 hours in public. My driver asked me if that was a kilt (yes - though it was a long, woman's kilt)). A couple stewardesses complimented me, one saying that it was a nice ensemble, and that I looked really well put together (n...

Re: Traveling skirted
The travel to my destination was quite uneventful. One TSA agent gleefully exclaimed "We have and Old Scottsman traveling today". He has some Scottish background, we chatted briefly about our common ethnic heritage. I did catch a few glances, but I really was not paying attention to people...

Are you going to be skirted at your destination as well? Or at least evenings?

Re: Traveling skirted
I'm planning to wear a kilted skirt when I fly out on a business trip in a couple weeks. It will be my most public exposure ever. I'm looking forward to the experience, as it seems like a good way to break through a personal barrier. Good plan! Are you travelling with anyone you know? If so, oh wel...

Re: Hiking, Back Packing, walking, jogging, running
I take my daily 2-mile walk in a skirt or kilted skirt. What I wear depends on the terrain. I wear at least knee length for protection from brambles and brush and tights for warmth and tick protection depending on the season. I'll go to calf length wool in the cold. I find a long wool skirt superior...

Re: Sightings "in the wild"
I chatted with a gentleman in line at the grocery checkout who was wearing a kilt. I commented that it was a unusual looking on as it had pockets. He told me where he got it, I thanked him and I said I'd have to check it out sometime Well, don't leave us in the dark! What was it and which retailer ...

Re: Worried that people might take pics of me
I was walking in the woods recently and saw an odd contraption strapped to a tree. Sure enough, a hunter's game camera probably got a great set of photos of me walking up the trail in an ankle length skirt. There is no such thing as privacy anymore in the digital photo era.

Re: How exactly is this NOT a dress!
Try a "kilt-skirt," see if she knows the difference. It's simply a kilt made for women, sometimes longer, but always cheaper and lighter-weight it seems Womens 'kilts' wrap the opposite way from mens (and it isn't an easy job to reverse them), a woman is bound to notice that sort of thing...
