Re: Gun control
Ray, Gun violence in America would be barely worth tracking if you subtracted out a few neighborhoods in LA, Chicago, DC, Baltimore, NYC, etc. It is not like it is dangerous in the rest of the country. And it really seems absurd that you pick now, with the recent European Muslim violence wave, as a ...

Re: Utilikilt, noticed or not
My experience of wearing UK's is different to Tassierobs. I find pleated skirts are more noticed than unpleated designs and the UK is the most obviously pleated skirt I own because of the heavy material. More folks notice and comment on the UK than on any other skirt. The reason why they comment on...

Re: Different reactions to kilt and skirt
when I wear a Tartan kilt that doesn't meet the parameters of Scottish Tradition it sometimes elicits negative remarks. Just don't wear a tartan fabric, and problem is solved. Wear a solid color. Here in the USA most men who wear kilts use the heritage excuse to do so. I feel the same way about men...

Re: A whirlpool of emotions
I think skirting will become universally acceptable in a way similar to men's earrings. Women were arrested for wearing pants even in the 1900s. Men didn't wear shorts until the 1960s unless they were playing tennis or swimming. I will say that I feel funny wearing women's gloves or sneakers even i...

Re: Elkommando owners, measurement request.
Note that the Elkommando is curved when flat. I curved my tape measure on my small, and from snap to snap I get 32.5 inches.
My waist is about 31.9 inches with a tape measure on my belt line.
The actual fit feels generous and not tight at all. I have to snug up the belt in fact.

Re: Different reactions to kilt and skirt
As long it is unbifurcated and runs from the waist downwards then it is a skirt. A kilt is just a style of skirt! Yes. A kilt is a skirt that is designed for men and is pleated on the back and of a wrap-around design. Traditional people will often not like the new American utility versions and say ...

Re: Different reactions to kilt and skirt
I think there are three categories of men: Those that have never even thought of a skirt as an article of clothing, ... I don,t think there is much hope of converting the first lot. They have no imagination. There is some hope as I am in my 40s and have never considered a skirt as an article of clo...

Re: Utilikilt at Disneyland?
My friend wore a Utilikilt at Disneyworld. A ~14 year old girl who passed him said "freak." He yelled back "You should get to know me before calling me a freak." There is no reason to be concerned about wearing a kilt at Disney. It is not a bible park or like going to the Vatican...
I've had no problems riding with a Mountain Hardwear El Kommando kilt.
I tried that also. No problem. You just tilt the bike to the side to get on. Also it didn't flip up when I rode.
