Re: Sir Garyson Perry is "just a man who likes to wear dresses"

Thanks Mouse, 60 years + is the time I have been interested in skirts and dresses. I actually became an official old codger in March, Mr Sunak said so. I certainly can agree that being out, loud and proud is one of the best things I have ever done. Just a pity that it took so long. Ces la Vie. Steve.

Re: Sir Garyson Perry is "just a man who likes to wear dresses"

I'm looking forward to the our next meet up. We can can have a chat then. On this subject, it won't be a meet-up, more like a week long convention. If you reach a conclusion, frankly I'd be shocked, I don't believe there is one. The nomenclature isn't as important as societal attitude and norms. So...

Re: What are these knights wearing?

Oh, I think I have done a pretty good job at escaping the situation you describe. I have long hair, wear heels and bright colors in the form of dresses, along with makeup. And I have gotten virtually no pushback with my attire. So I think the inhibitions of men with wearing dresses and heels are la...

Re: What are these knights wearing?

Just remember guys, the knights were uber wealthy and most definitely not wearing skirts as we understand them today. Sure they had the colour and design available by by virtue of their wealth and power, but even they had limited limited freedoms over their clothing choices. Gender boundaries were s...

Re: Advice on kilts

Dr F, You live in Scotland, no? Can I make so bold as to enquire if you are Scots by birth? If so, I am rather baffled by these questions, sure ask away, but the answers are on your doorstep, not an internet forum such as this. As a grizzled old Scotsman, I have no time for all the damned nonsense t...

Re: skirts for men

Stevie is correct but what he didn’t state was that women just walk across the aisle and shop in the men’s department for themselves. The important thing to understand here is that they gave themselves this freedom Jamie, Historically, women did not simply cross the aisle regardless and without dif...

Re: skirts for men

Guys, I don't question the quality of the skirts or the intentions of the retailer in these cases. My problem is with the concept that the only appropriate skirt for a guy is one which says so on the label. Naturally, there is no direct corollary in womenswear, females adopted a whole different appr...

Re: Skirts, Pants, and Deuteronomy 22:5

when that was written men wearing pants would have been rare or nonexistent. in my opinion it does not apply to men in skirts in anyway. The Bible which all this stems from is a translation commissioned by King James IV of Scotland and first of England in 1604 and published in 1611. Fact is, that t...

Re: skirts for men

No problem with them except one, I just cannot see why there is a fixation on "skirts" being made exclusively for men. I'll accept that there is a case for some flexibility in design with an end user in mind and even bespoke garments, but there is such a breadth of choice to be had by cros...

Yeah Jamie, just try getting a significant enough number of guys together to create that stunt.
I'd be really interested if you could work that bit of magic.

Re: Harry Styles again

I had to post how one fan went crazy over Harry Styles. How many male fans showing up in concerts wearing a dress or skirts? If any there is zero news coverage of that fact. Why? Good question. I would show up in a skirt but I won’t pay $600 for a ticket to a Harry Styles concert or any other conce...

Re: Harry Styles again

For one woman it not a turnoff that Harry Styles wears dresses or skirts. Myra Carvalho was sentencing 14 weeks for stalking him. She sent him over 8,000 cards in one month. https://www.nbcnews.com/pop-culture/pop-culture-news/woman-sent-harry-styles-8000-cards-month-sentenced-14-weeks-jail-stalk-r...
