Re: Do folks notice or not?

I consider myself extremely fortunate that in all the years I've worn skirts and dresses in public, I've never encountered any negative comments. Hell, for that matter, I rarely get any shocked expressions these days either. I started to wear skirts and kilts in 2010 and I would get a remark from t...

Re: Couple Withdraw Their Son From School

Great spirits have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds. The mediocre mind is incapable of understanding the man who refuses to bow blindly to conventional prejudices and chooses instead to express his opinions courageously and honestly. AlbertEinstein (1879 - 1955) Physicist &a...

Re: Couple Withdraw Their Son From School

This is the comment I put on one of the YouTube videos: Skirts and dresses have nothing to do with gender. If I remember well the first Christians did not wear pants but robes or dresses. In fact there is a stained glass picture of one of the disciples in our Church and he is wearing a green dress.....

Re: Women not in skirts

The only good advice my wife had from a doctor was when one finally suggested she stop wearing trousers to avoid developing candida (fungus) problems in the vagina. From then on, no problems (for either of us!). Martin The fact is both men and women should wear skirts . I guess our ancestors knew s...

For me wearing kilts, kilted skirts and skirts has become routine and natural. I wear them like I do wear pants....

Re: I'm busted!

It does sound like progress is being made, but hearing stories like this always makes me sad. After all, why should there be so much angst over a piece of cloth -- angst that makes us hide and feel ashamed. It's not like we're injuring anyone with what we wear -- yet sometimes even our own inner-ci...

Re: Cold skirting observation

I do agree that contrary to what people think, skirts are warmer in winter and more confortable. If you wear wool then you are set.
I like also the feel that when you sit down, the skirt is like a blanket on your legs. You dont get that feeling with pants

Re: Tights, pantyhose, knee scocks

Knee socks! It would have to be really cold for me to wear tights. I wear wool skirts/kilts when it is cold and sometimes below the knee when it is colder . That is enough to keep me warm when it is very cold.

Re: Men are the problem

It takes a while to deprogram your brain! For me now, It is not a big deal. Wearing skirts is like wearing pants, it has become something natural that I don't even think about. The other day, this older lady told me "Nice outfit".

Re: Men are the problem

Pretty much that. Men are fearful of being looked upon as wussies or gay if they're not decked out in flannel shirts, baggy jeans and Timberlands while sporting a month's worth of scruff on their faces and chugging down beer at a football tailgate, yadda, yadda, yadda. Well, I proudly wear skirts, ...

Re: What colors, patterns and lengths do you prefer?

Usually knee length, a bit above the knee or just under the knee and when it is very cold, mid calf.
I prefer classic colors, dark green, black, navy, plaid or tartan types and the likes. I am a classic/conservative guy.

Re: What inspired you to wear a skirt anyway?

I was just curious and thought it would make sense to wear one since men used to wear skirts in the past. That was 5 years ago. Already there were quite a number of discussions about that subject on the internet and it really motivated me. Nodaway it is way easier....
