Re: Out and About -- In the World at Large

The company is "working from home" for the most part. About 3 - 5 people in the office. I go in twice a week and am mostly working on projects in the server room with an occasional phone request or something from remote/on-site workers. Today I was more or less "off" finishing a project I'd started ...

Re: Gonna have to carry a purse???

I've carried a black medium Tumi messenger bag cross-body for 4-5 years. I even clip my cell phone holster to the shoulder strap and let it slide down to rest on the front corner of the bag - and had a number of ladies say that they liked that idea. Very easy to reach up and unclip the phone when I ...

Re: Folks trying to "label" skirt-wearers?

Well, I still wear my kilts on Sunday mornings or wherever I want the formal look. I recently acquired a black-and-white houndstooth plaid mini skirt with pockets and have been wearing it every chance I get - smoothing the backside down as I sit and coming up the side so extra material drops down be...

New Skirts - really Torrid, you might say.....

With my heavy cardio I've been reorganizing my midsection a bit and figure I'll have to replace a few skirts before they slide off while I'm walking down the street. Black 5 Pocket Ponte Midi.png I already had a couple of items from Torrid and unlike Lane Bryant they actually had some in the catalog...

Re: how short can you go in skirts

Not exactly a skirt, but this morning I dared to go out in my salt-n-pepper tunic. The saleslady said it was long enough. (Just barely, I thought.) I've been wearing it around the house with black leggings and this morning had the idea to dash out and roll the garbage container back from the street ...

Re: What did you wear for Thanksgiving ?

Red, long-sleeved turtleneck tee under a blue long-sleeved dress shirt. Black no-line thong under black support hose under black leggings with black dress shoes. Black half-slip around the waist and a black miniskirt. Grey skirt-suit jacket off and on (i.e. sometimes hanging on the back of the chair...

So not right.

I'll stick with my Livia skort, or if I remember correctly, a tennis/golf skort

Re: Wearing a skirt to church

Indeed. Some years back, our pastor did a series on Deut 22:5 and it was NOT about what clothing you wore but more about what you did. I've even waxed poetic on this site and others about my own research into the topic. Anyway. I'd gotten my first skirt because my friend Polly gave a funny look and ...

Re: Aggressive women

For about 8.5 years I worked at Sheraton Inn East...with pretty much an all female staff. My friend Malinda was the full-time night auditor and she recommended me for the part-time night auditor and moved to full-time when she left to get married. I kinda had the hots for Sandy, the bookkeeper and f...

I use a BodyGroom electric trimmer when I let things go to seed, and for the occasional touch-up.

Re: Current events

So. One wonders what the shooter's hit ratio was. Vox reports specifically that he struck only 14 people, with 9 dead, which would give us 14/41 or 34% hit ratio. An article in Time says 9 dead in 30 seconds. At one shot per second, should it not have been 30 dead? With additional casualties through...

Re: Out and About -- In the World at Large

Today was much better. Put on a 15" black straight skirt over black leggings to get the car serviced, do a couple bank runs and grab lunch with some friends Top was a red turtleneck tanktop. Ho-hum responses. Just under 80 and not bad out.

Re: So, kiltshopping?

I can "highly" recommend StillwaterKilts ! I have 7 and they represent the best bang for the buck (or pound) in the business. The 7 kilts represent a dressy collection for parties; events and holiday wear. With service 'Par Excellence' - once you press that enter key you better hurry to the door to...

Re: Out and About -- In the World at Large

Basically, I doubt anything was seen that shouldn't have been. The closed umbrella was held horizontally, across the hemline, holding the skirt in position. As was stated. The stormy, windy weather came in about four to six hours early and came up while I was already out. I hadn't thought there woul...
