Re: Ever wear a Utilikilt on Amtrak?

I've travelled in a Utilikilt and a traditional kilt many times. The big problem for me is the pleats. I actually find it more comfortable to just wear a loose pair of pants (gasp!) than to sit on the pleats. For me, if I'm moving about I prefer unbifurcated and if I'm gonna have to sit a lot, I'll ...

Re: REI outdoors retailer selling kilts

I have 3 of the Mountain Hardwear hiking kilts and they are probably my most favorite garment of all.

Re: New skirts from the US

At one time Georgia was second only to Alabama in membership of Ku Klux Klansmen. Most of which would probably hang a skirt wearing man as quickly as a black farmer within the last 50 years and still have rallies in the major cities replete with white pointy headed uniforms and swastikas and messag...

another Mountain Kilt for me

I was in a local outdoors outfitters store last weekend, looking for a hat, and found they had the Mountain Hardwear Mountain Kilt. Since I already have 2 and they might just be favorite garments, I bought another. I just love these things. They're perfect for many conditions, and they just will not...

Re: Question - Spouse support.........

Mrs MB started out as coldly ambivalent (gosh that was 8 years ago) and quickly shifted to acceptance and then the embracement, culminating in her current state of enthusiastic encouragement.

This TV show (The Riches) is one of the best stories I've seen on TV, and the acting is superb. The basic theme is that Izzard's character and his family have assumed the very posh lives of a dead lawyer & his family. Their daily activities are all pretending to be these other people and, frankl...

Your experience is quite typical. Every time I'm out in any skirt other than a tartan kilt, the public reaction range from not noticing to enthusiastic support. A tartan kilt has the same range but causes more conversations. It's great that you're out-n-about in your skirt ... inspired me to be out ...
