Re: hair bows
This is a contentious topic for me. Because I live in a conservative/religious/traditionalist community, gender nonconformity in men is perceived as weakness and openly mocked. I'm too old and lazy to fight the good fight, so the skirts and dresses stay privately inside and most of my gender nonconf...

Re: Dressing for Fall and winter
For myself, it's all about the heavy wool midi/maxi skirts in cold weather. https://ralphinadress.files.wordpress.com/2019/09/wool-skirt-with-pleated-blouse.png I also have a few sweater dresses that I'll occasionally wear either alone or over top of something else for an extra layer of warmth: http...

He has bigger kahunas than I’ll probably ever have in that regard. Totally off the topic but I can't let this go because once a teacher, always a teacher. Cojones is the Spanish word for "balls", which is why we speak of a brave person (usually a man, but there's also a delightful irony i...

Re: Dress Codes Unwritten
Things have eased quite splendidly since I was at university many decades ago. I'm old enough to remember when women of any class simply did not leave the house without gloves (usually white) or men without hats, ties, jackets, and usually vests . Flying was a formal affair; women again with their g...

Re: Parents and Kids
I suppose there is nothing to stop mum from buying a set and matching up with her boy - fit is less of a problem in preteen shapes - but I would be surprised if more than a few dozen families actually would go through with that. Gender identity crises notwithstanding, boys who dress like mum (especi...

Re: OUR MARK
It’s truly amazing how wanting to be accepted for your “peculiarities” makes one less judgmental against others “peculiarities.” As a somewhat religious person, I used to be troubled by Deuteronomy 22:5. I have written entirely too many essays on the topic of why that no longer bothers me, but what...

Re: OUR MARK
We certainly can not help by trying to prevent Labels being created nor people using them but we can help people learn not to worry about Labels. The only Label anyone should have is their name. Yes! I follow a number of social media sites that are either fully devoted to, or have a channel, specif...

Re: OUR MARK
[EDIT] And after writing all that, I see that Mr. Bookworm already said exactly the same thing only much more succinctly. Still, since I went to all the trouble of writing so many words I'll just leave them here :-) Yes, it is inspiring, but let's not forget that this is a man who went on record say...

Re: Tennessee Senate Bill 3
The amended bill adds some protection for MIS: entertainment that appeals to a prurient interest, Just as has always been the case since the first anti-obscenity laws, the devil is in the details - in this case the word "prurient". What is and isn't prurient? Some might say it's limited to...

There are two problems, the sizing system itself and fundamental differences in men's and women's body shapes. And an almost fanatical devotion to the Pope. Three! Our THREE main weapons are... Re: Dresses?
I have no idea who it was designed to fit, but they certainly weren't well-endowed in the boobage department, as it is comfortably fitted on me, And therein lies our biggest challenge. Deep scoop necks, v-necks, and sweetheart necks are out unless we want the upper bodice flapping like a sail amids...

Re: Men In Skirts - TEDx talk
1. When men in general wear skirted rigs, women see this as an invasion of their turf. Interesting. Since women in general (at least around my part of the world) almost never wear skirts, I wouldn't think they would care. But who knows what goes on in the mind of the smarter sex? I'm always hesitan...

Re: Men In Skirts - TEDx talk
In the case of reluctant partners, I wonder if there's sometimes an element of homophobia: not just "oh no, is my man gay?", but also "if I am partnered with someone slightly feminine, does that make me slightly lesbian?". Thats the FIRST warning in my standard lecture about how...

Re: Tennessee Senate Bill 3
All right, now I've had time to read over the bill itself and the ensuing discussion here (good marks all round for keeping it civil!) and put some thought into it, here's my take on it: First, I'm ambivalent about the whole drag queen topic. Considering my own highly nonstandard clothing choices an...

I'm 6'2", around 250LBS. I have a 50" chest and 46" waist. I ordered a size 2X but after wearing, I could've gone with a 1X Oh, excellent! We're almost exactly the same size, then (chest may be a wee bit smaller, but waist is spot-on). I'll try the 1X and let you know how it works out.
