Re: It’s A Kilt
Being pedantic, it's a t-shirt! I know the Scots who wear kilts are keen to differentiate from a skirt, that's fine. Skirt is a general term. There are a variety of skirt styles with different names, and countries around the world have differing names for their skirt like garments. However, they all...

Re: interesting interaction
Such incidents I have encountered but they are very much a small minority because you are out of ear shot. Compliments come often. Negative comments become know to us when my wife and I are parted and thinking I am out or ear shot say something. My wife simply says, "excuse me, that's my husban...

Re: "My Son Loves Wearing Dresses"
Good article. Beyond many in Society, but I meet a lot who are very understanding that a man in a skirt is a man, just as women now in trousers are women.

Re: Got a compliment
Compliments are always good to get and a confidence builder. Have had many over the years. I also take the thousands who may not give a worded compliment but interact with you positively, respect you, include and involve you without question as a compliment too, but getting a worded compliment speci...

Re: Hello from VA
Double_Wasp, you have a delicate situation and have my thoughts. Cannot add to what has been said. When the partner objects, really only you both can discuss and try and resolve the way forward. If it helps with discussions, my wife is supportive and always has been as too with many on this forum. Y...

Re: Knee socks with skirt
I wear knee socks with a skirt in winter. Coldest so far -9C but rarely get to that in my part of the UK. This week -6/-7C.
My skirts are mid calf length in winter. Tried tights in the early years but not comfortable. Knee socks are great for me and never feel cold. I do with trousers on!

Re: Are we narcissists?
By definition influencers are narcissists. If you throw it out there and rub it in other peoples' faces Agree. I see MIS and related as people just expressing themselves and not so much "LOOK AT ME". No, MIS are not narcissists in my opinion. For me we are individuals expressing freedom o...

Re: Escaping the man box - action needed
Escaping the man box is just too big a step for men, not just to wear skirts. Majority of society need to be within a herd mentality. To be in a minority or sidelined many cannot cope with. It's a catch 22 situation, how do you get mainstream thinking when the mainstream will not do it. As has alrea...

Re: David Beckham (MIS) Knighthood
Not seen him in one since and I'm sure the media would have flagged it up again if he had. They do on other celebrities. Doubt he will go for his Knighthood in a skirt/sarong. If he did that would be good publicity for men in skirts. No chance of a Knighthood my direction but would definitely go in ...

Re: I voted in a skirt
I vote in a skirt. If you wear skirts in public it's just another activity. If still in the early stages of skirt wearing in public then yes nerves, self conscious can pop up.

Re: Getting past fears of being perceived as gay, trans, etc.
My fear was never of being perceived as being gay or trans. My concern was being thought to be seriously weird. Hey! See that guy is wearing ... a skirt! Oh God yeah! What a weirdo. Stay away from him! Be careful being concerned of being thought of being weird. I encountered rebuff, even being sens...

Re: Getting past fears of being perceived as gay, trans, etc.
Noted a few times in this thread, the biggest hurdle is in the head. Fair point, will admit I suffered that in the initial stages until reality and experience cleared that. I have a bald head. Do not hide my male name. If putting a skirt on makes me Gay or Trans in others eyes, one I will not change...

Re: Getting past fears of being perceived as gay, trans, etc.
Very interesting article. However, some will have their perceptions regardless of facts, discussions etc. Just be yourself. You can only have so many friends and that is a minute fraction of a percent of the world's population. If a man in a skirt is gay, trans etc, so be it because that same logic ...

Re: 'Toxic' 'masculinity' in women and toxic femininity in men
I have witnessed both and also note that when women are misandrists, justification is made. When a man is a misogynist, no justification at all. It's an arena men will always be the accused, so I stay out of it. Life is too short and there is far more positivity from men and women elsewhere. History...
