Re: the first male skirt to meet success?

Hate to say it, but skirts seem to be coming more rare for women to wear. In the latest WomanWithin catalog there are no casual short skirts - only [gasp - ugh!] SKORTS! In all fairness there were a lot of dresses in that catalog. What is this world coming to? It was bad enough for men to have thei...

Re: unisex singing group!

Yes definately, long robes would be more unisex. Would tend to hide the womens breasts better too.

Re: Mens silk nightshirt

For nice nightshirts just google wittmann textiles. This is a nightshirt maker here in Fl. I have a couple of theirs and like them a lot.

Re: inexpensive kilts

I need a new kilt but I can't afford to spend much. My last one was from Stillwater. All they offer are various tartans. I have their Black Watch economy kilt. I would order another but I'm hesitant about wearing a clan's tartan (I'm not Scottish). I would prefer a solid color but I haven't seen an...

Re: Trying on skirts in clothes shops

FloralSkirt, I disagree. The shops I shop in are 'Womens Stores' like Lane Bryant, Avenue and Catherines plus others. Initially I always asked for the store manager and explained that I wanted to try some things on, and would be willing to come in early or be there just at closing. Their response in...

Re: CRfriend - Why the Pentode?

You are right about pieces of it being in a few different places. It was developed there at the univ during the 2nd war. I dont remember if it was completed to actually be of any value during the war. I do know it took a ton of power to run it and they had a terrible time keeping all good tubes oper...

On 9-11, My wife and I were on vacation. We were on the Island of Tobago. (Trinidad & Tobago). We had been awake for about 20 minutes when the resort office called. He said ' You are American - turn on CNN NOW. and hung up. We saw the second plane hit the tower. there was a lot of commotion arou...

Re: Do fashion designers matter?

Back in the 60's - Yes the designers were closely paid attention to. Today people wear what they want to. Sure they might look at a news clip of a designers styles, but thats about it. Folks dont rush right out and buy the latest 'Style' anymore. They might pay attention to the 'New' color for the y...

Re: This is what I wish

You know, upon looking at Bowie's "dress" there is no way that was a woman's dress. There is little way that front piece could...hide let along contain breasts. It looks to be fitted for him. (much like my chenongsam was. A female could not get into that gown if she tried, hips, and breas...

Re: When is a number not a number?

Through the years, the only thing that I can think of that has stayed the same are the sizes for Florsheim shoes. The last (form) that they are made on has remained constant. I can walk into any store and ask for style ,whatever, in an 11EEE and walk out without even trying them on. I know they will...

Re: A gentle push of the envelope -- at work

I will suffix this with the observation that I work with some extremely bright and talented individuals, and folks like that are more likely to embrace (or at least understand or tolerate) some "eccentricities" that would likely really rattle the more hidebound of the world. I regard myse...

That is a good office look. As someone already said - the shoes need changed, but the skirt suit will look good and way more comfy than trowsers.
