Re: Out and About -- In the World at Large

I wear kilts most of the time no matter where I am going. When wearing skirts I was more selective. Never near home and locations were carefully selected. Last year I threw that out the door. Went with a "I don't care" attitude. Somewhat selective on where I go but for the most part all is...

Re: kilt wearing

I wear kilts all year round, and it is in no way cold- Mostly it is with bare knees. But if I get tired of questions whether it is not cold, I might wear tights. https://up.picr.de/45228393ap.jpg https://up.picr.de/45228391wc.jpg I wear kilts all year too. Most of the time outdoors in the winter I ...

Re: bike riding

I should try that idea. I have a EZ-Sun bike that is a recumbent design. Legs are more forward than a standard road bike. I tried riding wearing a Utilikilt. The wind just pushed the material up to my hips.

Re: Kilting Diversity

For those that don't like the word "skirt" when talking about a man in such a garment can use the term "MUG". Stands for "Men's Unbifurcated Garment". I don't have any issue with the term "skirt" when I wear one. A kilt is an unbifercated garment, so is a skir...

Re: Gender Neutral Fashion is failing skirt-wearing boys

A lady friend of mine is a seamstress. I overheard a conversation she was having with another seamstress. I was not part of the conversation so I did not butt in. They were talking about what they wanted to sew in 2024. My friend indicated she wanted to try designing and sew "gender neutral&quo...

Re: Shortwave

The transmitters used on the long wave systems are very old. They run high power and consume a lot of electricity. Power levels as high as 500 kilowatts. I heard the reason one of the long wave transmitters was going off the air is because they don't have a source for the high power amplifier tubes....

Re: sourcing poly vivcose fabric for kilts

Marton Mills is the only one that makes the REAL PV material for kilts. At one time you could buy directly from them but that does not appear to be possible now. One retailer that sells Marton Mills PV is KiltsandMore: https://kiltsandmore.com/marton-mills-polyester-tartan-fabric I looked up a tarta...

Re: Shortwave

There are multi-user shortwave receivers you can access with just a browser. Here is a world map of them. Click on a Pin in the map then click on the link in the bubble to get to the receiver. You tune by click and drag, and you can figure it out it's not that difficult to get the hang of it. http:...

I like that one. Does not appear on the USA web site unfortunately. They have something similar to it but smaller sizes and not a wrap design.

Re: Kilt length - advice requested

A few comments on kilt length, measuring, etc. If you are purchasing a kilt read the kilt maker's instructions for measuring. They don't do it the same way. When buying a used kilt you may have no idea who made it. When the kilt was made what did the maker consider the location of the top of the kil...

Re: West Virginia joins in (this one may actually effect us)

This won't have any effect on a guy wearing a skirt as a man. Reading the wording of the bill: "It's a criminal offense for a person to engage in an adult cabaret performance on public property or in a location where the adult cabaret performance could be viewed by a person who is a minor. Adul...

Re: Out and About -- In the World at Large

Once a week I go to the same restaurant for lunch. I sit in the bar area. The same young lady runs the bar during the week. Last summer I would wear a short skirt one week then a kilt (tartan or utility type) the next. The server would comment on my kilts but never the skirts. I figured she was doin...

Re: Cozy Blue Linen Kilt

A a general rule linen wrinkles terribly unless it is a linen blend with rayon or wool. Like cotton it will not hold a pleat. On cotton kilts I have the pleats are sewn along the edge to hold them in place. The second strap looks strange because we are use to seeing only one strap on that side. They...

There are several videos on YouTube about guys in skirts. Search "men in skirts", "boys in skirts", and variations on those search terms.

Re: Out and About -- In the World at Large

Today will be a rather warm day with the high around 90F (32C). I had a few errands to run that included getting lunch. Wore a black, front button down, mini which was around 6" above the knee. A yellow short sleeve shirt and my 10" Harley boots. There are no pocket so I had on a wide 2&qu...
